I know that sounds extreme but I can easily see us lose to both Alabama and Georgia. The It's not out of the question to lose one of Mizzou or KY, both away games. That Florida loss hurt then and I think it'll hurt again later. JMO.You think we lose 3 between bama, UK, Mizzou and UGA? Yikes lol how much you wanna throw on that?
I can't with this horrid passing game...it is going to screw us over onbthe road...unless it gets better...which they could absolutely do and I hope they do...maybe at some point it just clicks and guys stop dropping balls and Milton starts seeing guys coming open and throwing the ball on time.We need to send you to Doc's indoctrination camp.
@VolsDoc81TX - Can McGill come stay with you for a while?
Idk who you’ve been watching but TM is the db that’s been getting burnt downfield the most and missed several tackles as well, not to mention his wiffed sack yesterdayUhhh, what? All DB's get beat but TMac had a great PBU on a late 3rd down that would have extended A&M's drive had he not laid out for it (play he got the minor injury on). He has made quite a few plays in the passing game this years, doesn't get targeted often and when he doesn't make the play it has just been a better route/pass by the offense.
He is also very good in run support and when he has been asked to run or pass blitz. Not perfect but a very solid player for us and one of our more consistent DB's of the last 5-8 years. Hits hard too and, most deserving of respect IMO, he didn't bail when Pruitt was fired (neither did Eason). I swear that we are unfairly harsh on our own guys.
I am very proud of him the last 2 years and glad he chose to be a Vol at a time when it wasn't an easy or popular decision.
This is dumb...they are the enemy...screw em.The crowd booed every time the opponent entered Neyland. That’s low class and inexcusable behavior in my opinion.
I understand the misperception of the fake injuries that have happened in the past, but it’s fairly obvious that these were real injuries…
It may have been magnified because I was on the student side, but I am not a fan.
We’re Volunteers! Not gators, bammers, or dawgs dammit.
We ain't beating Bama at home(unless Milton and WRs play better) and we ain't beating UGA with a one dimensional offense either...and one of UK and Missouri...or both...are beating on the road(once again..unless Milton and WRs play better). Why doesnt it and why don't we?
A&m was one of the suspected losses in the 8-4 record. They're no longer a risk. Beat the teams projected to beat and lose the others puts us at 9-3, so yeah, it does. Also, UGA and bama have not been dominant teams and we have a legitimate chance at beating either or both of them. If we did that and beat the others teams we're projected to win, what would our record be? So yeah, we have a legitimate shot and 11-1.
True...but that stuff has happened all year, at what point do you just accept that those plays are not going to get made?Crazy thing to me McGill is if you get some calls that should have happened and catch some passes that should have been caught...... Flat out dropped at least 2 40+ yard easy touchdowns so far........then I'm not positive we'd even be talking about it.
Wth knows! Just wanna see em keep fighting!
Mehhh, everything would fix itself the first Catchable touchdown pass thrown. Heck the first decent drive with good throws would fix that. This makes sense. The team as a whole stands to lose more than it gains by benching Milton if he’s viewed as a leader who guys rally behind. I also believe that Milton was unusually bad yesterday and that he’s good for 200 yds, 2 TDs type performances far more often than what we just saw. That combined with the run game and defense is enough to win. Joe didn’t do much yesterday but Dee Williams bailed him/the offense out with 6 points of his own.
Hope so...I think either of those can beat us on the road.Leary is awful. I don't think they'll be able to do anything against us offensively.
What we saw from A&M is better than what we will see from either UK or Mizzou, especially on defense.
As many problems as our passing game has, I don't think it's enough to lose to either Mizzour or UK. We are too dominant on the LOS. After yesterday it's clear we are elite on the d-line and o-line (at least run blocking)
We'll pass a lot better against UK and Mizzou. They'd both need us to beat ourselves for them to win.
I agree...I think after watching us run all over A&Ms front Saturday despite their ability, that teams are going to load the box and shut down the run and force us to throw the ball.Agreed. The only definite W’s left are UCONN and Candy. Teams are gonna sell out to make Milton beat them and I think if that happens then 7-5 is not completely off the table.
Hot take and jmo but our D will have to bring their A game every week the rest of the way, no exceptions, to keep us in games. Tall task. Doable? I’m not gonna say absolutely no but I suspect we’ll have at least 3 more L’s by the way of the handicap of Milton and this passing game.
I hope I’m completely wrong and a many of you can quote this back and tell me I was full of ish after the season. Will gladly eat crow.
sitting here trying to find closest Vol example to James Peace Jr. Best I can find is LL
While a bit unfair, LL was a dog. Absolute freak with power and straightline speed. Seems like he could play the run better.
The PR, although not as big, or physically gifted as CP. His juke move certainly brings back memories. Almost a Ced Houston kind of move, although Ced was a bigger back. I think CP was much faster, and a freak. Its time to put Dee Williams in the 'spect column. Will play on Sundays. And may be in the All American debates.
