Hey!!It is amazing to me that, even with the bumps of this season, some people cannot be excited for the direction of our football program. We were a 3-7 football team with a mediocre defense and an offense that had to be put on life support to score at all. In just two short years, we have gone 7-5 with a screw job loss in the MCB and 10-2 with a gritty pull away win against Clemson in the NY6 Orange bowl last year. We have a great shot at being 10-2 or 9-3 this year which most people would have given @drvenner's left testicle for 5 years ago and now all the whining and bellyaching about going to "pointless" bowl games from a bunch of people on here just grates my nerves. Just enjoy watching this team and let Heupel and staff grow too. He is still a young coach with a lot of football to learn in front of him too.

Playoff expansion makes it worse too. (Thats not a college football issue, but in all sports.) MLB just had an 84 win team make the WS, the regular season becomes irrelevant when you let a ton of teams in the playoffs.I think the attitude "only the playoffs matter, only the championship matters" is just another symptom of the NFL-ification of this once great sport. Lousy attitude that takes away from what made college football fun and unique so that we can turn it into another sport with a pointless regular season.
I kinda liked the 4-team playoff. Avoid those weird years like 2001, 2003, 2004 where you had to leave a worthy participant out, but don't expand it so much that you run the risk of ending up with a 3-loss national champion. Single elimination tournaments are fun but a poor method of determining the true greatest team in the sport that year.Playoff expansion makes it worse too.
