Seaton and Mikell? I feel like Michael Smith and Cai Bates are easier gets.

Mikell just feels like uga wins out at the end and Seaton will go down to the wire with a bunch of heavy hitters.

I’d rank the likeliness to land as follows:

Bates
Smith
Williams
Mikell
Seaton

Hill.

We getting them all……cept Hill.

Wait a minute:

If Ole Miss beats UGA, then We beat UGA, do we owe Lane Kiffin a ‘Thank You’ card if we win the East?

Thank you!!!

@Orangeredblooded this is why I stopped coming around. Too many people with too many real problems and get on here just to see whiny babies complaining about players and coaches as if they are supposed to stomp their foot and get whatever they want exactly when they want it. Didn’t have time to do much but look for some posts to like. Couldn’t find any. Have time today because of a painful broken wrist only to find bitching about our successful basketball coach because he is not perfect enough.
But those are a minority of the posts about Coach Barnes - most of the posts are showing love for him and the team…don’t let the few ruin it for you. It’s easy to be overwhelmed by the negative but just breathe and really look. There are a lot more posts from those who see the positives than from those who only whine about the negatives.

I think some of our whiners are like my husband– they love their team but somehow think must expect perfection…

All were 3 stars or less I believe. I don't think Alexander was a 4, he started playing basketball in 11th grade. Those will always be 2 of my favorite teams. I'm not sure in this age of transferring we will ever see a team develop like that one again. 4/5 spent some time in the NBA and I think all but Bone are still floating around, maybe in the G League at least. Looks like Alexander is playing overseas now. Grant's a steady contributor.

That Purdue game still hurts. Don't get me started on officiating smh. I absolutely loathe when officials call a foul on the last play of the game and I am filled with rage when said foul was not even a correct call.
I love that team - I think because they weren’t one and done so I feel like I got to know each of them. Those videos they’d post on instagram helped a lot with that. Those players will always feel almost like sons to me.

Interesting development

I'm not a fan of this. These bowls are for seniors who are trying to move up a round or two in the draft or do enough to get noticed by a scout just to get drafted at all. By letting juniors in, even if its just 7-8 spots in each bowl that would mean about 15 seniors lose that one last opportunity to take the field. If juniors feel then need to showcase their talent more for the draft then return for their senior year of eligibility.

The officials refusing to call clear holds is the major issue affecting our pass rush...totally agree with that...but the soft zone we've been running has also given QBs easy options for getting rid of the ball.
They're easy options because we aren't pressuring them. We aren't pressuring them due to being held. Your first point kind of negated the "but".

The bottom line is the refs just simply aren’t really calling holding. I have watched tons of games and they aren’t calling it just about everywhere. So knowing that, guess what? You gotta find a way around it. Even Hubbs and Cain said it. Gotta fight through it and find ways to make plays.
It seems like they've called it against UT.

Yeah, why wouldn’t they just make a “Draft Showcase Bowl” or something for the early draft declarers?

Let’s be honest: it would get ratings.

If the QB has a wide open guy 2 seconds after taking the snap, then the ball is going to be gone before anybody can get to him outside of someone coming through unblocked. The soft zone has given QBs some quick easy options for getting rid of the ball. Watch the DBs play off and then bail out further down the field when the ball is snapped. It's too easy at times.

Exactly. Juniors with 3rd day draft grades should be given every incentive to come back for their senior year.

If the QB gets rid of it in 2 seconds, it's a very short pass, which is what the zone is designed to produce. The DBs close, no big plays. The offense has to put together a long drive with no mistakes. The field gets VERY short in the red zone, and we get aggressive to hold them to three at worst--again, IF they haven't made any mistakes.

(It also minimizes the danger of mobile QBs, as the defenders are facing the QB, as opposed to having their backs turned in coverage.)

That's the scheme, and if you look at our defensive stats, it's worked wonderfully most of the time.

If we go soft zone and get held with no pressure, there is more danger to giving up chunk plays, which defeats the overall purpose of the scheme.

aw lawd, the conspiracy folks just creamed in their jeans. AP just said pass rush stymied by holdings!

Aw lawd, Hubbs just threw out the Crompdaddy comparison.

I feel an old school WGWTFA in the plums.
I think I'm with you. This may be the game where both offense and defense play 4 quarters together and they win and set up a top 10 game vs UGA next Saturday in Neyland!

That’s the key is the zebras calling OL holding when it occurs, so our DL can get pressure consistently.
