I'm not a fan of this. These bowls are for seniors who are trying to move up a round or two in the draft or do enough to get noticed by a scout just to get drafted at all. By letting juniors in, even if its just 7-8 spots in each bowl that would mean about 15 seniors lose that one last opportunity to take the field. If juniors feel then need to showcase their talent more for the draft then return for their senior year of eligibility.
I agree, just like if you graduate high school in December you can't go to prom.

The officials refusing to call clear holds is the major issue affecting our pass rush...totally agree with that...but the soft zone we've been running has also given QBs easy options for getting rid of the ball.
I'd say Banks and Heupel are trying to cope with the FACT that our pass rushnhas been absolutely castrated by the SEC...it is extremely frustrating to watch them nitpick down the field...but it's better than watching them throw for 450 yards and 5 TDs on 20 completions thanks to the fact our pass rush can NOT get there.

I don't understand how you guys think being uber aggressive in coverage when there is no pass rush (and don't forget, our best tight cover guy is gone for the season)is going to work out well.

I believe they are doing what they feel is the best strategy fir us to win under the circumstances forced on them by the crooked ass SEC and injury.

If the QB has a wide open guy 2 seconds after taking the snap, then the ball is going to be gone before anybody can get to him outside of someone coming through unblocked. The soft zone has given QBs some quick easy options for getting rid of the ball. Watch the DBs play off and then bail out further down the field when the ball is snapped. It's too easy at times.
The other option is to play press man as we did much more earlier in the season. Losing Hadden, who was our best cover corner, makes putting dbs in single man risky. If someone can step and fill the void, I believe we will return to more press man.

Gibson looked pretty good in man, but that was against UConn WRs.

Any updates on Mizz WR 1 still being dinged up and a game time decision? I thought someone posted that on here earlier in the week?
I’m wondering if some more news is about to drop on him. Just noticed that more money has come in on TN over the past hour or so, and the morning line changed from -118 to -125 due to that. Probably nothing but makes me wonder.
