It was the Gen Xer's and ESPN who came up with that "SEC SEC SEC" garbage. Any self-respecting boomer Tennessee fan hates all other SEC schools, all other schools period. I have never and will never root for a school just because they are in the SEC.

If my memory is right. Banks hire was based off of color. Seems like thats what the players wanted and that was the reason it took so long to find a DC? I know this was posted on VN back in during the search. I think Heup tried to get the coach from Ohio St. and another coach who all 3 were black. I may be wrong but it seems like that what was being mentioned. Banks was never going to be a good DC and he never will be at this level

You are wrong. We got publicly turned down by 2 white coaches. One was a head coach at Wofford, Josh Conklin and the other was Matt House, so what the hell are you talking about?

Slightly awkward moment on Vol Calls tonight when a fan asked Josh Heupel what the plan would be if Joe Milton III didn't play well in the first half against Georgia.

Heupel said the plan is for Milton to play well in both halves against Georgia.

My editorial: I think everyone should always have a plan 'b' to fall back on.

There is no doubt in my mind that CJH has a Plan A, B, C and D, at least.

But you said I was wrong like you had proof. So in reality you are just skeptical and this is your opinion? They interviewed Al Washington, not so sure about Kasey Rodgers and then Tim Banks and seems like there were 1 other after Banks and went back to Banks.

All my fellow friends that are my age all say **** the SEC if it ain’t Tennessee

My dad is 81 and he and all his friends pull for the SEC as well as my mom’s age group (big age gap between the 2 of them)

Opposite for me, a couple of years ago it was younguns that got on to me for not pulling fir Alabubba vs. Clemson. I and the people I hang with would never side with another SEC school. If Tennessee is not playing I really don't pull for anyone unless I hate the one team and I am ambivalent towards the other.
I never heard anyone chanting "SEC" until the 2000's.

If you don’t think Heupel has a plan you are crazy. If Joe doesn’t play well put in either Nico or Gaston Moore. That’s the plan.

Not looking to get involved in a pissing match, but I don't remember either of those two turning down the opportunity to be our DC, nor do I recall it "streaming daily". I'm old, so maybe my memory is bad. Does anyone else remember this?

I do recall a rumor that Donde Plowman wanted the DC to be a minority hire. Note I say rumor. I have no factual evidence it's true, but the rumor was out there. It was supposedly based off of meetings had with the team at the time.

I don't claim to know the truth. I just know what I recall hearing or reading.

They look like they’re listening to a coach they know is about to be fired.

He sounds like a guy trying to talk as fast as he can because the sooner he gets done and gets to talk about how he’s getting fired the sooner he gets to start collecting a paycheck while never having to give that speech again.

Certainly doesn’t look like the type of locker room environment you’d expect after beating an SEC team 51-10

No one wanted to touch the USC sr, job because of looming NCAA sanctions. If it weren't for that Lane would never have been offered it. USC sr. knew he was basically an interim, and if he worked out fine.

I don't recall that the DC job was one that they wanted a diversity hire for, but I do remember there being rumblings (from a couple of sources) that they wanted to go that way for the head coach. There is nothing hateful or racist about wanting to increase the diversity of your staff, and there is nothing hateful or racist about acknowledging it. I don't hear anyone complaining about hiring an AA coach, so I'm not sure why this is so offensive to you.

Well, if you don't REMEMBER these 2 coaches, maybe you don't REMEMBER hearing that they were looking to hire a minority coach. Where would you hear something like that? Would they say that on the news? So you HEARD it Where? If they wanted to hire a minority, then they are color blind because the first 2 offers that were public were white men.
