Kinda awesome really. Gotta be much more strategic than before and have a strong belief in your own system.

this...and i think this is the most frustrating part for us as fans, is that we don't know, necessarily, every time a kid goes someplace else why they went there.....i'm sure some decided that place was better than UT for whatever reason, and i'm sure some were initiated by us.

at the end of the day i agree, i think you have to have a system you trust, valuations that are comparable with the programs you compete with regularly, so that $$ can't be the biggest/only factor, and that recruiting still comes down to the relationships, program stability and all the the things that has always been important to the recruiting process.

that NIL is now here, it is just another competitive component, not the end/all be/all. and if that's where we are, then i'm good. if we lose a kid because of money....then that kid probably wasn't a good fit here to begin with.

That used to be half of the entire discussion leading up to NSD. Feels like forever ago, a more innocent time when a banana mayo sammich only costed 2 nickels and a reacharound.

Kid’s got talent, but the walking in putts, waving at the ball, and other antics……he needs to tone down a bunch. I’ve seen numerous kids at his age that are/were much better…….

But …… I’m looking forward to seeing how he matures.

You can see that Heup has a type for just about every position. I think he considers fit and character above all. He stays away from the drama queens no matter how talented.
