Portal shouldn't open until after Bowl Games, then let the bidding begin...

Opt outs are going to happen more frequently now, why shouldn't they?

If I was projected a 1st or 2nd round pick I would be twiddling my fingers on sidelines as well..

I wouldn't risk my future for no penny anny Bowl game either..

Bowls sucked back when the powers that be selected the NC contenders in the preseason and did everything to write those matchups into existence. Fans of teams always made up the difference. Trying to shoehorn bowls into glorified playoffs has been an exercise in futility. Embrace the FBS version of the playoffs and the FCS version has shown the relative excitement involved. Bowls will continue as consolation prizes to those that couldn't make the cut and they're valuable for the practice time and fond farewell to the season. But the nostalgia involved in what was always a money grab that grew out of control is misplaced imo.
Bowl season began to lose it's luster in the BCS era I think.................but it was still better than this BS.
I like the FCS system, and have stated it as a way to do the FBS playoffs for years when people whined about "too many games for the kids."

I'm an admitted proponent to the "old system."............before BCS.
I miss the 70's and '80s. I'm old and set in my ways................ 😊

No quarrel, but there's a reason us old'ns die.

Still set in your ways...amirite? ;)
Not in that way........

On that subject..........I got a chance to talk to Joe Gilliam, Sr a lot about his, and John Merritt's teams at Tennessee St before integration. He said they had a secrete scrimmage vs a highly ranked SEC program, and beat the "absolute horse $h!+" out of them. He said it was comical to call a non-integrated team the national champs...............The "Black National Champions" really were #1.

Kenny Chesney favorite player of all time...

They were declining at the end of his time there...after Tebow his cheat code departed. Great classes that didn't produce. Hence "heart attack" and "retirement".
Not sure I agree. Look at Ohio State 2012-2019. I’d take those records. He also never lost to Michigan.

I am always amazed at the people who cannot think beyond just point A to point B.

This is a transition to something different. It will not stay this way.

But I'm sure Division II football will be more attractive now for those who hate players being compensated and free to move around like coaches and college admin staff do.

It will stay this way because it is praised and promoted. You're hot **** when you quit your team and enter the transfer portal and get a bag. It's the culture of football now. It's done.

Things haven't been the same since NCAA 2014 😢
