We got beat. Bad calls, poor execution, poor line play on offense, poor tackling on defense, not having a good game plan in the first half on either side of the ball and not taking advantage of any opportunities when they did arise. That's just how it was. We can make excuses but the bottom line is we got out played in the first half and never could stop making stupid mistake the entire game. The one thing that upset me the most was the lack of effort I noticed in some key defensive situations......can't do that and win.

Milton actually played pretty darn good in the 2nd half and made some incredible throws. He's not Hendon Hooker. He also needs a clean pocket, which he had last year but hasn't had this year. The offensive line, imo, is the biggest problem on offense and it's becoming more and more apparent. We have to have Cooper Mays back.

Secondly, it finally looks like the offense woke up and played to their potential at times in this game. And there was quite a groove in the 2nd half. We need to start like that against South Carolina instead of coming out flat and out-of-sync.

You hope to get into that rhythm in the first two games but obviously didn't happen. Still a long season with redemption possible.

I HATE the University of Florida

Yep.

It is amazing how many fanbases across the country don't understand the impact of a subpar offensive line on game planning, calling plays, and the seeming lack of talent displayed at skill positions.

It doesn't matter what the type of offensive is being run, who the coach is calling plays, or who the skill players are, if you offensive line can't block effectively, you will be severely limited, repetitive, and predictable.

I’m not denying that buddy lol but that ref debacle played a HUGE role in the momentum of that drive. Please don’t be so damn negative that you ignore that. Jesus
The wild part about him even arguing with me on this is that if that play isn’t stopped, we convert 9/10 times. That’s a minimum 3 points. That makes it 29-13 thwn we score a TD so it’s 29-19 before a 2pt try. That’s monumental lol

I’m from Florida so I’m used to the people in this state for the most part. My wife and I have never been treated so disrespected than the last 6 hours in this hell hole town.

I just can’t imagine how humans think it’s appropriate to scream in people faces the most disgusting things. While walking out of the stadium a nice young woman told my wife to “eat sh*t and die” ..I for the life of me can’t fathom doing that to a stranger. College football rivalries are so fun but tonight took the joy out of it for us. I don’t plan on ever coming back here and would never bring my children to this place.
It’s a trash fanbase. Has been as long as I can remember.

So OL is a concern despite what the naysayers said during fall camp? I’m shocked.

We don’t have a talent issue on D but rather a coaching issue. Fix it this offseason.

When you don’t pass the eye test against Austin Peay then trust that vision for league play.

Which is my main concern about Heupel. Where are the OL? Why is that arguably our worst unit in year 3 when it's arguably the most important?

The first half was pitiful. The last 10 seconds were disgraceful. But beyond that, there were positives in the 2nd half. The next 2 games are winnable and we can find ourselves 4-1 going into a bye. It’s a long season.
We ain’t beating USCjr.

Our play calling tonight was like they were calling plays for a freshman QB… only we had a 6th year QB back there, yall see the problem here?
Yes.

Joe looked a little better in the 2nd half. The throw to Bru was perfect. But I mean this in the most loving and encouraging possible way: some of you forgot in one year what is looked like to be on the wrong end of a garbage time blowout.

Prevent defense and offense soley focused on not turning the ball over.

I’ve never been to Gainesville and I don’t intend to ever attend a game there as a Tennessee fan. If I do, it’ll be as a neutral fan. I’ll stick to watching Tennessee in Neyland or at a neutral site.

I intend to hit every SEC venue before I kick the bucket. I’ve done several as a neutral fan and it’s a more pleasant experience.

Defense was strong in second half

It’s a philosophy thing - they want to be disruptive and they are

Now, lack of forced turnovers is interesting…

A win is a win is a win.

But boy it was ugly.

A lot to say but I'll wait until after the Florida game.

2-0.

Well, I guess I'll say what I thought last week.

I don't recognize our passing offense. All these horizontal passes and screens remind me of a HS team. We literally don't throw pass 10 yards consistently. Not sure if we don't have confidence Joe can make the throws or the Oline can't hold up on protection. Either way, something has to change. That falls on Heup and I'm starting to think we miss Golesh more than I thought we would.

I really like Joe and all our issues on offense are not on him but with that said, we should start allowing Nico to take a couple of series in the 1st half next week. If the run game is not going, our offense looks bad.

Damn we need Cooper back!! I was hopeful he would play since he made the trip. Crawford and Lane had a terrible game. Not sure why Mincey didn't play more.

Tim Banks and the defense had been the one bright spot this year. He went back to his old habit of playing that weak ass zone defense and playing 2 high safeties with no threat of getting the ball thrown over your head. We played alot of young guys today and at times at looked like we did. I think the defense will be fine though. Was Slaughter and Josephs hurt??

Wake up call for the team, coaches, and fanbase tonight. Better days ahead but we only 2 weeks away from a huge stretch in our schedule. I trust our staff to get it figured out.
