#5 team in the nation..."Hard team to watch"

View attachment 609908

Let's go back to our .500 days when we could be "shocked and surprised" by a win here and there in conference play.
Did I write that? It is very hard to watch the periods of no D with guys who are not great getting to the rim with ease. Turn the ball over and over again. It is very hard to watch them play especially with JJJ and Gainey out there. The last two games, too many guys not getting to 50 50 balls and being out hustle is HARD TO WATCH. I never said anything about going back to the days we were a .500 team or to get rid of Barnes. YOU wrote that. I have seen and coached a lot of basketball and Rick would tell you that crap is hard to watch and if you don't think he feels that way about these guys sometimes, then you know nothing about the game or good coaching. We have a good coach and he was pissed at MSU and today. No reason this Georgia team should be able to stay on the floor with us and we have to play better to get a top seed. We also have a ton more talent than those poor teams of the past and that is why this can be so hard to watch. They have too much talent to play so poorly at stretches. Even Dalton got yanked cause he would not do the dirty work and block out and scored two but gave up 2. MUST DEMAND PERFECTION TO OBTAIN EXCELLENCE. To compare them to those prior teams that were .500 is a strawman argument and has absolutely nothing to do with the present. Do better posting because this post by you was lazy like the team is at times and you are also better than that.

Fouls aren’t suppose to be even…. the more aggressive team will usually earn more foul calls…. we need to become that team all the time.
Tell that to A&M and UK. Dillingham kicks out, trips a guy, and no call. A&M gets called for it in OT and somehow the shot before the foul doesn’t count. The more aggressive team is one thing, a more consistently called game is another.

The power of negative thinking is a wonderful thing
I have never turned them off before but today after the other night was too much. I am usually the sunshine pumper but the effort today and at MSU just got to me and these guys can be better and all of you know it. You can lose but play hard and do your best. No reason to lose so many 50 50 balls and not get after it. When we got after it at the end when we had to, we blew what will be a bad team by the end of the year out. Georgia is a 500 team.

Georgia won’t finish as a 500 team, now that’s a lazy take.

It’s going to be interesting. I don’t think they are great, but they have some players and are probably better than LSU, Mizzou, Arkansas, Vandy, and maybe South Carolina. Should be a 8/9 win conference team, which would put them at 19 wins.

No idea how many they win but the better team doesn’t always win. A&M isn’t better than UK but won. Miss St isn’t better than UT but won. Lots and lots of examples all over college bball

Tennessee should have won by 20+, Georgia best win is over a 9-6 Arkansas team..

Even Dane said the same thing early , Georgia schedule has been weak ..
Weak compared to ours lol

They played Wake, Providence, Miami, GT, Oregon and FSU in the OOC

They obviously aren't a bad team, we are just elite and we make everyone else look bad.

Tell everyone you don't know anything about basketball workout saying it.
I will say I let my frustration get to me but the lack of energy and effort just got to me and had been building up for awhile and I just hate Georgia and Bama so much. We didn't need to lose these to and thankfully we got one of them. I did turn it back on with 4 minutes left. But, I do not give a dang what you think.

They need 5 wins.

Still get Vandy, Ole Miss, South Carolina x2, Florida x2

They haven’t got a huge Quad 1 win, but no bad losses either. White should have them above 500

I can see some truth in that argument. When I was a freshman at UT in 1974-75, I listened to an away game, and Ernie Grunfeld fouled out on five charging violations. Without the benefit of being able to see it live or on television, I was highly suspicious of that outcome until I saw him play at Stokely Athletic Center. He drove to the basket like Larry Csonka or other old-school fullbacks of that era.

On the other hand, how often have you seen Kentucky called for more fouls than their opponent, whether it is home or away. The historic pattern, to me, was that the blue bellies wound up shooting two, sometimes three, times as many free throws as their opponent. Generally speaking, that is known as home cooking.

They are a .500 type team. 17-13 when counting all games and will be below that in SEC play. I know that is above 500 but was comparing it with our teams like that which are NIT teams. Playing sister of the poor schools should not count as wins and yes we have a few of those as well.

I wonder how much of his staff that DeBoer brings with him. I have no idea who they are but he has to have some dudes he wants to bring and it is doubtful any of those guys have recruited in the SEC. I guess he will try to poach some big time recruiters from other SEC teams. It will be interesting.
I think saban will still have a lot of say on what the coach wants or does if he is still going to be around

Well they will be pretty good next few years, Mike White has a really good recruiting class coming in next year to go with the Freshmen on this team..

Georgia will be top 25 in a year or two..
