Cameras focused on Saban, who announced his stunning retirement news on Wednesday, as new Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer and his wife, Nicole, slid past to find their spots on the dais. Saban faced a receiving line of University of Alabama trustees and boosters who wanted to offer well wishes as he began a very Saban-esque version of retirement that included still coming into the office the following two days.

What's it like to replace college football's greatest coach? Even on DeBoer's biggest day, his predecessor still stole the attention. That's what the former Washington head coach signed up for, and he said all the right things Saturday afternoon about embracing Saban and Alabama's storied tradition. He believes Saban, who will keep an office inside the stadium, only wants the best for Alabama moving forward and hopes that the former king of college football will give him at least one thing every day that could be helpful, promising 100 percent access to his program.

I forsee Urban Meyer-chest pains in this dude's future...a touch of the ole stressful GERD.
It’s bad enough when you are following a legend and have to live in his shadow, but in this case that legend isn’t a shadow and is sitting in an office down the hall. Weird.

Can NFL player stop with the theatric first down point on random routine first down plays?

I mean, I get it if it’s third and 15 and you convert. But why flex when it’s 2nd and two and you get the first. Nerds
Can I also add for DBs to stop acting like they've done something special when the QB throws the ball away.

Imo he was playing the ball, so illegal contact wouldn’t be the call. It would be holding if anything
Yea, I didn’t mean to suggest that was the call. I was just suggesting that they aren’t consistent with calling the physicality. It was PI or a hold.
