Seriously...these highly rated guys cost big money..where in the hell is Tulane getting it?...unless these are guys whose stock fallen since HS.

If they are bringing in all these big guns with big bags, while paying everybody else on the roster peanuts...that's gonna be a f'd up locker room.
Could be getting them smaller bags with an immediate chance at playing time. Aka Brazzell. They can portal more than once. Could be the pitch. Play here get paid there.

I think you hit it. Some fallen stock and Tulane has some roster room apparently. This late into the year, lot of places are beyond full.

Where did Tulane get all this money??

A lot of alumni money, Peay. It's always been directed to academics, at least in recent times. The first big change was building an on-campus stadium not long after Katrina and having the game-day atmosphere they never had playing in front of a conspicuously small crowd in the Super dome. Changing conferences got them more exposure, I think. Then it seems a taste of winning and especially beating USC must have set them off.

When their head coach was hired away from them after this year, I think it was a fork in the road. Go back to low-interest, low-commitment football or double down. It's good for NOLA. I hope it doesn't change the "feel" of the place. But it could be a positive. Clearly the crowds are enthusiastic. I haven't been to a game, and we just let go of our apartment down there walking distance from campus last year, so it's not that likely we will anytime soon. As a lifelong Vols fan, I didn't mind no one knowing Tulane even had a team. But I do root for the Green Wave now (in spirit). I really only watched that awesome Cotton Bowl and parts of some others. But it is sort of fun for me to see them do well. I do not like the idea of reserving a playoff spot for a non P-5 school.

Tulane is a beautiful campus in the Garden District in New Orleans. Easy sell from a non football standpoint. Went there a few years ago

They pay their analyst really well. Muschamp is not making millions, but he already has millions. He makes more than many position coaches. One of the perks of winning two NC. Muschamp is a defensive decision maker at UGA along with Kirby. They got money and they spend money.

Analyst can be young coaches learning or they can be heavily involved in game planning. I know an analyst at a P5 school that meets with offensive play caller every week to go over game plan and HC asks him his opinion on analytics on 4th down decisions and two point extra points.
Muschamp does not make DC money, but he is vital to their defense. Ohio State has an analyst who has been an OC at several schools and gets several offers every year to be an OC again. He would rather get paid well to work behind the scenes.

This is hyping Muschamp way too hard.

I’m sure Kirby appreciates his defensive mind but Kirby is the defensive engine, not Muschamp. Otherwise he would’ve been the sole DC the last few years.

Do find it amazing how belittling we can be against recent humans. As if, just 3 or 4 thousand years ago, they couldn't possibly conceive and build structures.

I think we generally underestimate them, the vast time they had to create such things, their brainpower, and manpower.
We vastly underestimate those that came before us.

Give it 5-10 years and Tulane will be back in the SEC or at least the ACC/Big12
