Recruiting Football Talk VII

There were at least a dozen people in here last night at mid night live discussing a HS all star game.

That's how I know I'm not qualified to talk recruiting.
it was at 4 pm island time. had the game been at 4 pm est we wouldve been in here discussing the 5 future TN vols playing.

I don't believe the 2024 class has been much better than normal. I'd expect them to improve with more success.
247 has them ranked 1st in the AAC and 47th overall. They weren’t top 5 in the AAC the last 2 years. 25 three stars. I’d say they’ve recruited better than they have in recent history.

No long scoring droughts today, big for this team..

Gainey seems out if his slump and Tennessee dominated this game with Josiah sick and DK having a average shooting day..
And...to add...Mashack is becoming a freakin beast on defense..I am watching the game again right now...holy crap that dude is a problem for ball-handlers.

Overall Rank 67, Transfer Rank 102..and Composite Rank 47? Didn't come across as strong to me...but I don't understand the Composite.

Checking all the boxes with this team. The Grant/Admiral team had question marks on defense. This team occasionally has question marks on offense.

Overall, this team is built well to make a deep run and maybe even bring UT a natty.

I want to see more consistency on the road and in hostile environments. I’ll feel better about this team in March if we play poised down the stretch on the road.
March is a freaking lottery...consistency now means crap...it is 100% about getting hot at the right time.

We showed grit and poise after getting down at MSU and UGA....despite the refs screwing us repeatedly at MSU the guys still clawed back.

Peyton was Ole Miss royalty from Arch Manning, and he chose Tennessee to be different. Why would you think he'd want anything different than he wanted himself?
To be fair, Ole Miss got slapped hard by the NCAA for a series of violations and were on probation. I'm pretty sure that had a lot to do with Peyton, not looking at Ole Miss.
