Yeah, Peyton really botched the onside kickoff recovery to start the 2nd half. That was the most impactful play in that game bc Indy had the momentum headed into halftime and was in position to really put NO in a bind, instead they get the recovery, score and stole all the momentum.
Drew Brees was MVP good grief. Acting like Brees had a scrub game damn ..

Peyton is great everyone knows this but it's possible to get outplayed by another QB in a NFL game..

Also, to weigh in on the conversation of the day, I'm pro-Barnes, but saying we're "a football school" and can't have more is lazy. If Florida can win championships in both sports in the same calendar year, I think we can too. Let's win the title in all 3 major sports.
I think that is what we are working for. It’s the demanding it should have happened 5 years ago without taking into consideration the reasons it hasn’t that creates the problem.

Rick Barnes has us talked about nationally like a blue blood basketball program. We have one of the best scorers in the nation and play elite defense. We went to Chapel Hill and had that crowd in a frenzy. That place was on fire for a chance at such a marquee win. That in itself was jarring to me.

Sometimes its okay to just appreciate good things. You don't have to move the goal posts around so our coaches can never live up to the standard you've set in your own mind.

We all want to win it all. But the tournament is a crap shoot. All you can do is give yourself a chance. Which Barnes does every single year. Yall remember sitting at home in March right? To advance far takes a couple guys getting hot and catching some lucky breaks. There is no guarantee no matter how good you are.

Even if we win the whole thing. These same people will show back up as soon as we lose the next game.

Yall can miss me with this nonsense
Excellent post!

I wasn't trying to dismiss Brees at all. You're right, he was unconscious in the second half.

I was commenting on the terminology that you happened to use, not meaning to pick on you just commenting because we all refer to that game as a Super Bowl that Peyton lost. My point was just that Peyton wasn't the deciding factor in that game.

Here is the thing...that 98 title came after dang after TWENTY years of rebuilding the program from the nuclear wasteland of the 70s by first Majors and then Fulmer.

It is the only one in my whole lifetime...and I don't know if given a choice that I wouldn't trade that 1 title (which isn't even my favorite Vols team, that would be the 85 Sugar Vols team) to not have the 12-15 years of pure sewage we endured...those years literally sucked the life out of my fandom, nearly destroyed it completely, and taught me a lesson I will never forget.

I am thankful and proud to have a good winning program again that isn't a freaking embarrassment on the field and off of it.

Thank you Danny and thank you Josh Heupel and staff for that!

Also thank you Rick Barnes for rebuilding the basketball program...way too many of us have forgotten the embarrassing cesspool that blessed man walked into and fixed..I haven't forgotten and never will forget the utter hopelessness I felt after the DT fiasco...I thought we were surely headed to an era of pure mediocrity, the pure mediocrity, and a lot of the time even worse than mediocre, that Tennessee Basketball has been for most of my life.
😭🧡

If you want a Barnes assistan, I think English is the guy.

If you go away from that tree though, I'm not sure. But DW has been solid so far, so I'll trust HIM until he gives me a reason not to.
Most of y'all will sh!t on it because of the source, but Basilio says that Danny White LOVES Dusty May.
