The Russians were great...but beating a temporary team of unfamiliar all-stars a couple of times in a best of three exhibition series...and winning the Stanley over great NHL champion teams that had played together for YEARS are two monumentally different things.

I completely disagree (I mean, I agree that they are different things, but those Soviet teams were loaded, and I think the Soviet club teams did better than .500 against NHL teams (not All-Star teams) in the Super Series in 75 and 76).
