Other than adoption fees from a stray shelter (usually is for the medical stuff), I will never pay for an animal. There’s too many animals that need adoption to go buy one.
Huge fan of adoption.
3 cats and 3 dogs currently (found or adopted)
Go back to the FF, AI-hater!View attachment 623085
Don’t you dare lump me in with the FF rabble simply because I haven’t succumbed to the AI overlords.
Depends on your views of billionaire central bankers and the founding and funding of the modern nation state of Israel. No need to go further in the recruiting forum lol. Can't find anything about him other than crazy conspiracy theories online that would lead anyone to believe he was evil. Not saying he was an awesome guy...but people celebrating his death are probably too susceptible to conspiracies.
In this particular case, I’m not even advocating that action…at least anymore. After I cooled down, of course. Q is getting his drain removed today and his stitches removed later this week. Local neighborhood kids love the beast and her six year old daughter goes to school with my grandson. Hope this doesn’t come back on me but if it’s a one off, we’re moving on.That was not what I was saying....if they can't control the dog, then it needs to be removed from being a danger to others.
I have owned several big breeds of dogs including: A German Shepherd, Pit Bull, Doberman, and a mixed bred dog( one of the types that can supposedly fight Bears) I use to believe that it was how you raised them until i started seeing too much evidence to the contrary. Pits contribute over 60% of all fatalities and over 60% from all injuries that have to be treated at the hospital… They also are responsible for 48% of all unprovoked attacks… My Pit was a big baby as well…. Never had any issue at all.Never thought I would own a pit or pit mix until we got our most recent dog. He is a sweetheart and I don't think he would hurt a fly on purpose. That being said, he is very powerful and if instinct kicked in could really hurt someone. This is true for all breeds though. Big and small. We know a family that had a very small breed dog that didn't like the way one of the kids was interacting with it one time and it bit her multiple times in the face requiring several surgeries. Dogs have deep rooted instinctual behaviors that we don't tend to respect as much as we should. All dogs were once wild a fully have the capability to be wild within them. We never know what will bring the wild out, so it is important to treat dogs with the respect they deserve.
I'm not an avid poster, but I'm an avid follower. My rescue dog who I've had for 8 years passed and it was not a peaceful ordeal. I know everyone loves their dogs, but this dog was the heart and soul of our family. I'm devastated. Prayers and well wishes are welcome. Thanks guys. Go Vols.
Someone made the comment earlier. While nothing holds true 100% of the time, I think it is a big issue with dog ownership today (even small dogs). People look at dogs as an accessory and not as the potential wild animal within. If a dog views their humans as the Alphas of the pack and they are lower down the pecking order, they will tend to be more docile and let the human take the lead in a dangerous (or perceived dangerous situation). When humans behave weakly and the dog (of any size) feels they have to take on the role of the Alpha in their pack, they will tend towards more ferocious and protective of their weak human pack members. Again, this is not true 100% of the time, but it can have horrible or even deadly consequences with larger more powerful dogs like pitties, rottweillers, and German Shepards.I have owned several big breeds of dogs including: A German Shepherd, Pit Bull, Doberman, and a mixed bred dog( one of the types that can supposedly fight Bears) I use to believe that it was how you raised them until i started seeing too much evidence to the contrary.
