He'd be great....in the 1960s...1990s...maybe even early 2000s.

He's just an odd fit in today's NBA. Need more speed, agility, ability to defend the 3 and stretch the floor on offense. He might be a good role player though.
NBA looking into rule changes to cut back on offensive out put during games.

People getting sick of watching no defense.

That's probably right. Charlie Garner had a better YPA (6.7) on about 50 fewer runs. He's the only one I can think of that's comparable.

I like our returning running backs but Wright will be missed. Guy averaged 7.4 yards per attempt this year. That's just sick.
GOAT blocking system sure helps.

In 3 year of Heupel, we've had 7 RBs at 5+ YPC.

In the 3 years prior, only 2.

Once you take out blockers and spread bodies out, stress backers horizontally, it's just deadly...and the math proves it out to be optimal. And to think for decades and decades people wanted more blockers in the box 🤭

Biggest change was handchecks. Big help on perimeter.

Idk if it will affect big men at this point, as a far more optimal system has become entrenched for big men. More space, 3s, less clogging up the lane for drivers. That was never an optimal system.

The rule changed just after the early 2000s when the NBA finals were being played in the 70s 😅🤣

But yes rule changes may affect it. Not because defensive skills improve over night, but rule changes affect things surely.

Offensive output held steady until 2016, then started going up. I'd say scheme differences arguably had a much bigger impact than rule changes. Analytics and the Europization of the game and intense flood of talent from all over. Throw tempo on top of that and it's a recipe for offense.

Meanwhile the NBA has moved up to the #2 sport in USA and globally a hit. People do like offense, just like in football. Huge difference between scoring in 2023 vs 1963 or even 2011...9-6 games.

I also don't get it at all when people say "2025 is the year" we are losing out entire offensive and defensive lines lol.

I guess people just look at 25 and say "Well Nico will be a third year player" and base their view on that alone.
I wouldn't go that far at all.

I'd argue our OL and DL recruiting has bumped up bigly just in the last 2 years. A different breed of talent across the board. And they need time to grow and develop. Then add in the portal.

'During a press conference on Monday, Drinkwitz took time to throw shade at EA Sports and their rating of Missouri's offensive playbook in the new college football game that's set to be released later this summer.

"I just saw where the top 10 playbooks [and] Missouri's offense wasn't listed which is absolute insanity to me," said Drinkwitz. "How Kirby Moore's offense isn't listed as a top 10 offense after going 11-2 with a quarterback who's ranked in the 90s and I think (wide receiver) Luther (Burden III) has one of the highest rankings on there. It would make sense that offense was in the top 10. So nah, I don't pay any attention to it."

. . . By the way, Missouri had the No. 29 scoring offense in the nation last season. Not quite top 10, Eli.'
He’s such a tool. I’m beginning to have more respect for Dabo than this loser.

Reaaaaaly wanna smack Bama down there in T-town

Auburn I fear more than Bama...Bama can't play no defense and that's not good if you're playing us...we have a special KNECTION
I get that, but Auburn is an abysmal 2-6 in Quad 1 games.

...and they're coming to our place...vs the highest rated opp they've faced all year.

I just don't see it happening, but we have to show up...you know they will.
