Our fanbase is acting insane about Joe Milton and the football team. It's a little embarrassing.

Instagram, Twitter and the FF. Yikes.
Yea it’s a little ridiculous. He’s thrown 18 uncatchable passes so for (4.5 a game) Hooker threw 53 last year (4.8 a game) I’m not saying Milton is as accurate or as good as Hooker, he’s not. But the people acting like he’s missing every throw is just wrong

Being the guy after the “guy” is almost always a raw deal. Like the QB after Tebow… that I can’t even remember his name.

Or Zook taking over for Spurrier.

Or muschamp taking over for spurrier.

Or Herman taking over for Brown.

It never ends well for them because expectations are still at an unrealistic level for even an above average to good replacement.

Edit: it also makes what Tee Martin was able to do in following up Peyton by doing something he was never even able to do that much more impressive. He was no where near as good as peyton, but the stars aligned for his team for some reason. Syracuse, Florida, arkansas, all could argue that they should’ve beaten us that year.

I believe the biggest problem with our offense is 3rd down efficiency...and it's not going to be an easy fix.

I haven't done a chattanoogavol type breakdown of all the 3rd down plays so far this year, but the problem is that there is no one big reason for the crappy 3rd down efficiency...some failed plays have been bad play calls, some have been bad passes, some are drops on good passes, some are bad blocking, some are down and distance issues because of pre-snap penalties getting us way behind schedule...all those things are our fault.

The others are just good defense being played, and some are crooked cheating officials screwing us completely over..

It would be an easy fix if it was just a couple of things...but it isn't..it is a multitude of different things....like Murphys Law running wild.

It is a daunting problem for sure.
Joe really struggles in 3rd and 4 or longer…. he sucked at it since he has been on the hill. He also struggles to drive us with less than a minute on the clock like Hooker did so often.

Hooker was just better between the ears than Milton is, and that’s just not something you can teach.

I’m okay with the missed deep passes, or even lack there of, but I want to see more passes over the middle and at different levels. The more I think about it the more I realize that’s the biggest difference in play calling
we don’t have the ability to do that, imo.
