.What I meant was, when they integrate the NIL into the university and the university is doing the contracts, would they be employed by the state? I guess the state can hire independent contractors, I believe they do it all the time. Just seems a little different with them being students and athletes for the University too. . . kinda like if the rec league player was also a cook at the restaurant.
I see where you’re coming from…keeping it completely separate would be a challenge. I think, if you don’t pay the student athletes for playing football, you could perhaps, contract with them for promotional or advertising services and keep it clean. What I meant was, when they integrate the NIL into the university and the university is doing the contracts, would they be employed by the state? How can you keep something clean that has never been clean?I see where you’re coming from…keeping it completely separate would be a challenge. It could get really hairy though - do you pay the SA for his appearance on the jumbotron or the roster magazine? I think not. The way it works now, the SA cannot appear in any advertisement with the university logo, etc. They can be in the school colors but not with the logos.
Because of all this, I’d like them (universities) to not pay NIL. Keep it clean and let all the NIL contracts be completely separate from the university.
And don’t “hire” student athletes to play football.
wut?
He's been in the league 1 year and was injured and out by week 5.
Twice in 2 days I've seen someone declare a player dead in the water after 1 year. Vol fans should know better.
Has bowers been to Vegas? To me the best 1st round draft picks are usually those guys that just stand out on tape at every level regardless of stage.
Bowers is the sure thing guy in this draft. IMO
Plus he's an introvert and a hard worker. Meaning less distraction and more focus on getting good.
Williams is not that guy
Meh be on Harrison. He never looked that dominant to me.
If you had to have a qb top 5 then Daniel's was the right pick imo.
No must take edge rushers for me
Latham is bleh imo. Could end up like the OT Panthers took from NC State and look unprepared to protect a new QB in his first year.
Let me know if you think of the name of the show - love to see it!@SmokinBob We were watching that series on the evolution of the planet and life narrated by Morgan Freeman last night. Idk the name. Anyway when we got to the episode including the post-dinosaur evolution of birds, a deadly hunter took center stage. The owl! Thought about you and one of your signature gifs and took this photo of the screen!
Guys, if you catch an owl gif, keep in mind those things are more deadly than they may look. View attachment 636744
Dooley has a track record of sucking. But there is no at he's worse than CornbammerNo. Pruitt vacated all of those wins but 2 because he was arguably the least intelligent coach in college football history. Borderline retarded, probably due to inbreeding.
After the NCAA dust settled, his final conference record at UT was 2-16, 11%.
Getting us into trouble carries a lot of weight. Pruitt, all things considered, was the worst. And it’s somewhat close with Dooley second, but not thaaat close.
Great post and I will applaud you for owning everything you postView attachment 637429
That tweet made me just search vitello’s name on Twitter just to see what is being said.
Perception of Tennessee baseball as a program is still that of having bottom tier facilities and resources. I’ve seen Miss St, Ole Miss and ironically Arkansas fans (when DVH retires) clamoring to hire him.
Miss St fans can’t fathom him saying no, the only fans that say no is simply because they don’t want him due to his antics.
Ole Miss fans are split. Some say he’ll never leave Tennessee, others say he’s waiting for the “big SEC job” like them to get out.
Arkansas fans are utterly convinced he’s waiting to take the Arkansas job when DVH retires. Essentially believing he’s a HC in waiting there while coaching another program.
I also posted this in the baseball forum but I think it’s funny enough to share here too. I famously thought LSU could lure him away in 2021, but now that he’s essentially gotten a blank check to do whatever he wants here, while simultaneously being a king in Knoxville with an established top 10 program.. I see no reason why he’d ever leave.
Not to mention he doesn’t have an agent. Unusual in this day and age, but true. Guys who don’t have agents typically have no plans on relocating any time soon.
