Ummm, these guys are all top pitching recruits and are freshman and sophomores. I think Tony likes being able to show that they will get their chances. It is a freaking mid week game that means zilch in the big scheme of things other than getting young guys some looks.

Coming into this game he had a 2.57 ERA (3rd lowest on team, 2nd lowest for pitchers with 12+ innings pitched) to go with 20 Ks / 3 BBs in 14 innings pitched. And opponent batting average of .154

He’s been good in his role.
