tl;dr Got my azz spanked at skool.

We had a big fat, pompous, sadistic high-school principal who loved to spank any time he would invent a reason. I think he pleasured himself with his paddle behind closed doors.

Now, one of my best friends and I had come to the conclusion that one of our teachers was a time suck, so we started skipping that class to go read books in the library. That door (trust me) was not surveilled like the outside exits. 😂 I guess we were amused at this idea. I don't know who eventually turned us in, but I was sent to Mr Big's office. He wanted to know what I was doing when I was supposed to be in class. I said, "Reading Dante. Trying to learn in school." He turned red-faced with anger, but I think he also started drooling a little down his chin in excitement. He gave me this choice: He was going to call my parents and tell them I am suspended from school for three days for skipping class and sassing the principal (which would have gone over horribly at home) or take two swats from prized paddle. Hurt like hell. But in college I was able to claim to great amusement that I was literally beaten at school for reading during world lit class. 😂

But I had a different friend who was pretty unruly, gave no Fs, and liked to joy ride when he skipped school, which was a lot. And apparently based on some of the stories he told, no one at home gave a F, either. He didn't play school. One day I told him my story, and he went completely lmfao. "That son of b-tch!" he said. He told me he finally got caught driving out of the parking lost and sent to the same Mr Big, and that Mr Big gave him two choices, too. Either take a spanking or... write a three-page book report.
Any of you ever heard of Gary Hardin? 😂 that man lived to paddle kids in Sevier Co.

I grew some red savina habeneros a couple years ago. I didnt realize they were habeneros. I thought they were green peppers.

I ate one of them when it was green and it was a lot hotter than it should've been. I noticed one turning orange, so I stopped picking them. They were a wicked demon looking red color by the end of the summer.

I can't really explain how hot they were. You could chop one up and use about 1/10 of a single pepper in a pot of chili and the chili would be too hot for most people to eat. (Yes, I realize I said I can't explain how hot they were, then proceeded to explain how hot they were). . .

It was pretty cool growing them, but there was not really any use for them.

One year dad planted some right in the middle of other peppers. Ended up with banana peppers hotter than Jalapeños and even kicked up the jalapeños near them too.

Good stuff, some of the best pickled banana peppers I ever had!

I may grow some this year. Almost out of time. They need to be started really early. Maybe I can find some at a nursery. . .

Dad grows some like that. He eats them straight off the vine. I tried one whole and it was like eating literal fire. No taste, just all heat. It was so hot it made my eyes puffy.

He started drying them out and crushing them into little flakes. They're more tolerable and absolutely fantastic in chili. 20240503_133220.jpg

What a wuss. It's hot burns my mouth.

Get him a binkie...😜
That's exactly what my dad said to me about his habenaros...."wuss". I felt like I was going blind and he was horse laughing. 🤣

*That must be an over 70 super power or something. Immunity to unworldly hot foods.

Yes. Palmetto is a problem. Most packages go there to be lost forever. . . or at least for 10 days. . .

I know this because I had a package inexplicably routed through there. Luckily, I got mine after only 3-4 days delay. Most people I read about had to wait weeks or just completely lost theirs. Some packages were sent to different countries and some were sent back to their origin location to start the shipment route all over again.

It is wild how many bad stories come out of that place. Hopefully yours goes through smoothly.
It's off to a bad start since they haven't even scanned it in yet and it arrived on Monday. It's a guitar...so a pretty big box that's hard to miss. The sender called and got a case going on it yesterday since tracking hasn't updated since Saturday and we're hoping that might get them to find it and get it moving again. I'm just glad he put an airtag in the case so we at least know where it is...or we know where the airtag is...maybe the guitar has been stolen. It somehow cleared customs in busy NY in an hour but hasn't even been scanned in Palmetto in five days. Just ridiculous.
