Recruiting Football Talk VII

It's just sickening. He was 'bought' for $9.5M/year so to criticize the players for wanting money and making a decision based on money is the height of hypocrisy.

He's not at LSU for the championship opportunity, the fanbase, the opportunity to develop, or even the NIL opportunity. He's there because they pay him a lot of money to be there. A fact I wouldn't criticize him for if he wasn't lashing out at the players.
The coaches complaining about nil there should be a list made of them to show recruits so they know who doesn’t want them getting paid.

Kirby
Dabo
Brian Kelley
Etc.

It's a challenge for everyone. You pick your spots.

But spare me the moral virtue signaling.

Meh. I don't hear much virtue signaling there. I think he's just trying to be pragmatic. LSU has had culture issues off and on for a very long time, before and since he's been there. I think he's still trying to get the culture where he wants it. Another feather in Heupel's cap by comparison. The culture has really been pretty exceptional every year he's been here.

His culture is fake culture. Kids may not have clairvoyance enough to see it.

Meh. "We don't buy people like everyone else" is silly. Nick made the same pleas.

Colorado?????? We can’t be serious.

Our offense took a step back last year, simply because I don't think Joe was fully capable of operating at the highest level needed for Heup's offense. He can throw it a mile, but you have to process things quickly and make split second decisions. I think that hurt the perception of our receivers last year. Now, we have only really seen one full game under Nico but he seems to be more in the HH mode of QB than the JM mode. Plus, we have Bru back, Squirrel White is JR, Donte Thornton has a full year in the offense, and we added some nice pieces in Brazzell and some really nice freshman. Plus we have a number of other guys that have multiple years in the offense that have filled in for injuries or breathers that could have a breakout year if they put in the work like Jalen Hyatt did. We are poised to have a huge offensive resurrgence this year, so "polls" like this don't mean jack squat. Heup and the offense be like...

Yup. Rain has messed fishable water up for foreseeable future. Speaking of, is that stretch down through downtown Newport fishable? It looks like if I were a smallie, that's where Id be.
There's a couple of spots but better get there early because the whole town knows about them. Congested area by 8:30 a.m. . The Rednecks in Newport like to fish.😏
