Lady Vols hosting their 19th straight Regional tournament as part of the softball CWS!
That’s impressive to say the least.
I hope they they can take it all the way to the championship!

Just talked to an Oklahoma fan and their softball team is not as solid as it’s been recently. He doesn’t expect them to make it through to the CWS. 🤞🤞
Would make for an easier road if they were out.
still nuts that they host the tournament in OKC every year instead of rotating it. Be like if the college football playoffs were held in Birmingham

I know Pat wouldn’t approve and that’s enough for me…the LV fan base is a cult in certain aspects like hiring former coaches and players..in reality we were the same way after Fulmer and since then we’ve loosened up a lot…LV’s basketball has never had to face that kind of change in it’s entirety.Pat was here her whole career and after that it was straight down the bloodline and it wasn’t working…

luckily we have a AD with balls that felt like we needed the change and it was that time.hopefully it works out and Danny looks like a champ…because if it doesn’t he will have to face that same cult again and I hope we’re here to defend him.Hes one hell of a AD.

I’ve always seen the uproar from the LV fan base as normal considering it was the same uproar on the football side of things..the more they drag this out though the more annoying and desperate they look until someone with a big stick just tell them to eat shorts..it is what it is💁🏽‍♂️
I wouldn't say the uproar was quite the same. When Fulmer was fired, there was definitely a part of the fanbase that didn't want him fired. However, I don't recall anyone appealing to keep him because he did things "the way the General would have wanted." There also wasn't the same dictation of terms in who his successor should be. People weren't saying the next coach needed to have ties to Phil or to UT, and obviously the gender issue didn't exist (many LV fans think the LV coach has to be a woman). In contrast, Tennessee went "outside the family" in a big way - Kiffin had no UT ties and in every respect was basically the antithesis of Fulmer, and we loved it until the day he left.

Those appealing to keep Fulmer seemed to be doing so out of some kind of personal loyalty to him, or they thought it was unwise to remove him because he had been good for a long time and brought us our first (and only) modern-era title, and they thought he might be able to get his mojo back. The hang-ups LV fans have run much deeper than that. Kellie Harper was a thoroughly mediocre coach at a historically elite program. She didn't win anything here as a coach. Yet a pretty significant part of the LV fanbase thinks it was unfair to fire her, misogyny was involved, it is unfair that the men's basketball program has a different set of expectations, the new coach has to be a woman with ties to Pat, etc. etc. A lot of the grievances they have are political and have nothing to do with hiring the best person for the job.

It's no different than the CWS being in Omaha.

The playoffs are a made-for-TV event in a much more popular sport; it makes sense to rotate an event like that around a bunch of high-profile venues. Baseball and softball don't have that kind of following.

But is getting more popular.

I assure you treating it like a regional Ice Hockey match doesnt help.

CFB fans, iyam are looking for something else. Even if for. a break from the mundanity of CFB. Same teams, every year. Generally the same outcome, or at least one I cgaf about. Michigan? Who cares?

The rules changes, Congress...NCAA...NIL, Georgia, Clemson, and Bammer ... sprinkle in the dumbassery of ESPN, really sucks the life out of a game we love.

Last night I made it through the worst thunderstorm in Knoxville I can remember. Thanks for asking.

Really though, it was pretty wicked. Thunder that lasted for 30 seconds and some that sounded like it was aimed at me.

Did it wake anyone else up? @drvenner must've heard it.

Of course, this massive storm was a result of the HAARP test they did on May 8-12 that caused the aurora. . . 👀

Correct,

Was reading an RFK Jr opinion-editorial. In it he mentions Taylor Swift using Pelosi Covid $ to pay for the Haarp Machine. Apparently it resides in the same shadow Gov't room that we keep the Hurricane maker, polling machines, and UFO's.

Anyway, in what could either be just complete random chance, or more likely people with extremely busy schedules- spread hundreds of miles apart geographically all cheorographed like a James Bond scene - to undermine Knoxville TN, after strategically causing (NO) mass interruptions and (0) chaos during the (natural) Aurora Borealis.

🙃 Sometimes, as in like every ****ing day, there are absolutely good reasons for why things happen. Like **** just happens.
