To your first paragraph, yes.No actual evidence, just my opinion but it’s either that he saw that the competition at his position was going to severely affect his playing time or he expected more NIL than was offered.
These players that go into the portal and get right back out are using it as a bargaining chip. Jmo. It can backfire and no one tries to stop them.
As to the second, it happened many times this year with players in portal committing to and then leaving Ole Miss that many suspect Ole Miss was promising the moon and then reneging.
I'm all for Wes Walker finding a spot outside of the league were the can play. He gave his all, and had some great moments for us. He's more a victim of what everyone wanted: a focus on and influx in DB talent to improve our room. All the sudden a former starter was buried in the depth chart as an upperclassman. I would imagine (idk) that once TB committed to Ole Miss, he recruited other Vols in the portal to join him. TB is a different case, altogether.
