If you have to proclaim this, what does that say about you?

Any time I see her in the spotlight I get the sense she’s always upset or feeling slighted or victimized. I hope that’s not just the narrative being perpetuated by media, and I don’t think it is given she willingly accepts and/or proactively projects that image into the world. And it’s like, well you’re admitting/proclaiming you choose to be the athlete people love to hate instead of the one they want to support, so what do you expect? Kind of Colin Kapernick vibes.

And while I can’t relate, I have to imagine that being a prominent black female athlete has its challenges, especially at her age where she doesn’t yet know how to handle the fame. The “me against the world” attitude reflects that lack of maturity. I guess I just hope for her she grows to realize she will catch more flies with honey, be more fulfilled and more successful if she can block out the negativity and be the positive force people want to root for instead of against. It’s an easier road to success, and you want those type of fans because theyre more likely to be “new watchers” and more likely stick with you through whatever challenges surely lay ahead in your career. This the perspective from someone who doesn’t watch the wnba and doesn’t plan to.

Let’s throw some criticism at Caitlin Clark while we’re at it. Who cares if you’re getting fouled. It’s going to happen because you’re good, especially as a perimeter shooter venturing into the paint. Do you want to end up being the lebron (who cries to the refs and invites more of the same), and create that image for yourself, or be the athlete who fights through it, dispels the narrative and excels anyways?

I can’t say I’d be any different than these kids but if you’re making the money they are, they should have a coach/agent teaching them to shrug it off and not feed the trolls. Unless it’s a calculated decision that any publicity is good publicity given the lack of it for the sport? I dunno.

It's the recruiting forum community thread. It happens to have football in the title. If you were a participant in the community you'd know that. If you don't wish to participate in the community there probably isn't a great reason to be here.
It hasn’t always been. I’ve been regularly reading it since the days of Kiffin. The only reason I come in now is to see if anything notable has occurred with the football team or in football recruiting, not because “it happens to have football in the title” but because the title literally means it is a place to talk of football. Any deviation from its literal and original purpose has been an evolution.

In any case, you guys and girls seem to be having a good time so please continue. I will just come back in August and will be happy to do so then.

I've also been here since the Kiffin year. It may not have been this way in 2009 but it has been for at least 8-10 years. This is the RF hang out, catch all thread and has been for years. If you haven't noticed that, that's on you.

If anyone would know how hard drugs hit, it's Arkansas fans.
Little known fact, the woooo pig sooey call origin is that it’s the sound heard from the other side of the hill top when a local arkansasan heard another see their crack lab about to explode.

It's been exactly the way it is for a decade. We'll see if we can get the title changed so it'll be OK for us to continue doing exactly what we do.

Its June and the only thing wecan talk about is football?

BTW, if we talk about not talking about football, does that count as talking about football?
@Freak wouldn't appreciate the lost revenue if we limited it to football. But since this is about the 100th time a rando has complained, maybe we should rename the next thread, or add a disclaimer.

Here in SC, on vacay. Seeing several Gamecock lifted golf carts. Several things occur.

1. Trying to be objective, how do people root for that **** bag of a team? Seriously. I dont get it. Your coach is a tit.

2. Anyone who would pay $1. fuggit $8K on riding around on a lifted golf cart. You gotta question priorities. People have too much money, and some weird wants and desires. Even spending that coin for a TN golf cart is a stretch, although a much easier pill to swallow.

All the extras are just silly.

I swear one of the embroidered seats said 'Cock Riders Nation' 😳
In SC as well. Played golf today with my FIL and we got we paired up with two sisters probably in their 70s both who had their golf bags absolutely decked out in USCjr gear. I had my UT hat on and when we shook hands when we first met one of the ladies said, “oh gosh. Winnie (her sister), he’s a Vol.” 😅 They were good sports though and ended up being really fun to play with.
