Omari Thomas and Baron could return next season. If they do our defensive line would be the best we’ve had in soooooo long. Rn it’s probably about even when we had Barnett and Maggitt lineup across from each other and had 20 sacks together which was almost 10 years ago.

I don’t think it’s quite there yet but it’s getting close. Pearce jr is just gonna get better

Banks is definitely growing as a DC, but he’s gone as soon as a HC job pops up. He can be selective though so could be here a few more years before a good gig calls.

Gonna do a mea culpa/I told you so combo special. I think Karic was hurt today but Lane was an upgrade and I’ve been a Karic apologist.

Before the season, I strongly disagreed with a few insiders that Young would be difficult to replace. They said his skillset wasn’t matched by anyone on the roster. I said both Pearce and Josephs were more explosive and had higher upsides. They countered with they would need another season or two. I contended they could make that up easily with the TWO offseasons they’ve had since signing. Also noted they were high end recruits from top programs and Young matriculated at Dollar General Store…true story.

Some stats that stood out.

SC was 2-14 on third down. Rattler had a 4.8 ypa night. These are both incredible. 238 yards rushing. We were also 7-15 on 3rd down. Joe gets some of the credit for that. Our OL run blocked their asses off and the pocket was pretty clean.

Great freaking win.
