What a game. This team has heart.

Personally I disagree with this post; giving up verbally is a problem.

I understand doubting. If we’re being honest, I think we were all doubting midway through the game.

I also understand second-guessing coaching decisions. That’s sports.

But doubting is different from giving up. And it’s completely different from some of the negativity and criticism of pretty much everything happening we saw posted.

Man, some of the stuff we see posted during games. I mostly stay away during games, but looked back yesterday and today. Wow!

Receipts, i.e., proof? Yeah, they’re needed. In some cases because they’re fun and those posters take it as such. And in some cases because the posters deserve to be called out because they always do this.
Very well said

Kirby “Vollie Fingers” Connell bailed us out in the late 6th and 7th. He doesn’t get enough credit.
Kirby makes me squeamish when he gets called in, mostly because of his velo or lack thereof. With that said, he did a phenomenal job tonight and bailed us out in a huge way.

Most definitely some will. I hate the freaking Idiot Margin 🦬💩.

Taking up the slack for @Ulysees E. McGill .
No slack...I just check out during games now because I want to curb-stomp about half of the posters(the aforementioned Idiot Margin)in the game thread for dogging our players and coaches out so badly.

It's not wrong to say "PlayerX isn't seeing the ball well tonight"...or "PitcherX has struggled badly the last few weeks, and I don't have confidence he can get the job done"...or "FielderX is really playing sloppy tonight...or "Tony's decisions aren't working out"..etc etc etc..

But the IM doesn't do that...they call our guys "Soft" or "Uninterested" or "Garbage" or "Trash" or "Stupid"

That pisses me off...we don't have teams in any sport full of obvious selfish quitters like we did for many long years under previous horrid regimes.

On June 16, 1884, the first roller coaster in America open at Coney Island, in Brooklyn, New York. Known as a Switchback Railway, it was the brainchild of LaMarcus Thompson, traveled approximately six miles per hour and cost a nickel to ride. The new entertainment was an instant success and by the turn of the century there were hundreds of roller coasters around the country.

Broadly speaking, yes there are no easy outs. For sure. That started the moment the super regionals did.

But there are still differences in teams. Otherwise every CWS game would have even Vegas odds.

I mean...if you're a random team would you rather be facing TAMU or UVA? UK or NC State? And of course nobody wants to face us...so...

There are still material differences, even if lesser teams catch a bit of luck to get there. Look at the Men's FF. No way you want to play UConn over facing NC St/Bama just because those 2 caught a bit of heat at the right time, short-term variance doesn't make them overall as good or better.

Take the favorable odds.
Just beat everyone

You can't trust odds in the setting. One hot pitcher and it's adios.

There's a reason he's our all-time appearance leader. Frank and Tony have HUGE trust in him.

I feel that but I’d almost rather play the team we scored 12 runs and had 18 hits off of in the opening game.

They scored 11 but we had 3 errors, 9 BBs, and a HBP. I don’t see that happening again.
Great point. But, now seeing them both, it doesn't look like NC has the firepower FSU does. Honeycutt is as good as there is in the country; but, Tibbs was POY in ACC, Ferrero is on fire right now...that kid almost beat us single-handedly, and he DID beat Virginia today. Plus, they have 2 or 3 others that are swinging the bat very well right now.

FSU arms have to be about gone, though, especially if they do get by NC; and, as you said, we scored 12 on them with fresh throws. Give me NC, though. As I said, however...imo, the only team beating UT is UT. A sloppy game, filled with errors or bad plays, bad swings...that may beat us. If we're dialed in like tonight, it's over. I truly believe that. We cruised tonight, and really didn't have THAT big of a night offensively. That's how dangerous we are.
