Can't remember which source it was but someone said he's got a decent chance to earn the position.

But that's because of that experience. Mostlikely replaced by the young talent before too long if he were to get it
iirc, it was said in a player thread that AP had been asked in a VQ q&a session about names that no one is mentioning but that were "worth keeping an eye on." W Wright was one of the names. Several of freak-out types immediately started a Chicken Little palooza, claiming that all our new DBs "suck" because a walk-on was "starting." AP did not say "starting." I can't find the post. But what happened was pretty much what I just said.

A "decent chance to earn the position" (as you put it) was a moderate conjecture, in response to the people who were fahring everyone.

Reactions: Orange.
5 players? Or players picked earlier than 5th round?

Edit: I now see the X you posted saying thru 10 rounds.

Yeah mainly first 10 rounds. The less than 5 was just overall tho. A team can save money early in draft by underpaying slot value and then overplay later. So the round drafted is less important. All depends on what asking price the kids have put out there.

Lose less than 5 from that class (#1 class) and it’s a home run.

Kind of funny

I own a carpentry business. We had a contract for five baseball themed bars with redwood bats as corners. Called Louisville Slugger. They would not make a bat out of redwood

So went and bought a bat. Made a template. Used my lathe to make 21 bats

20 bats went on the corners of the bars

21st sits next to my bed in case someone breaks in
crazy.

once had a tree fall in my yard, was struck by lightning. worked round the clock to make the bat, only one though, because why go to trouble of sawing, milling, lathing, and sanding just 1 bat. Anywhoo, thought it's be neat to burn in a lightning emblem onto the bat. Kinda neat.

So anyway long story short a guy who looked like the oatmeal spokesman from 1980's helped me rehab. Ended up playing for a team called New York Knights. Some say i'm just a Natural.

Saw one old fart got this😂

Doc, check your glasses. Nothing I said was untrue, nor was I promoting Texas in any way. And I said that last part about Tennesseans fighting for Texas independence.

You must still be jetlagged.
Didn’t say it wasn’t true, but it stops the longhorns in their tracks when I tell them that Tennessee students fought to free Texas. And therefore you silly longhorn, UT is the University of Tennessee. They have absolutely no argument after that. 🤠

Our rb room isn’t exactly proven but i was glad to see Sampson add 10 pounds in the off season. If Seldon is completely healthy by Kent State September 14, sure would make me feel better about Oklahoma the following week.

#6 Sampson 5’11 201 JR
#23 Cam Seldon 6’2 222 SO
#20 Khalifa Keith 6’1 239 SO
#22 Peyton Lewis 6’1 210 FR
#25 DeSean Bishop 5’10 200 r-Fr
#28 Patrick Wilk 5’11 203 r-Jr
#24 Hunter Barnes 6’0 196 r-So

I'm never that concerned about RB. If you have a good offense and a good offensive line, a decent RB will look elite. Don't screw up pass pro, don't drop easy passes, hit the open holes, and Heupel can make any decent RB a top RB. Everyone else on offense is more important in my opinion.

I like Seldon at 200..guy is elusive, fast with power..pushs the pile when needed. We will see how he picks up blocking.
I tell you what, Wright was a great SEC back..power and speed and I am amazed at how he developed.
Prob needs to be at 215-220 to take this league on at an every down basis.

Fortunately our staff isnt pig headed enough to be that old school.

Last year Small was 5’11 213 and Wright was 5’11 210. Sampson was 5’11 180 when he got to UT so he’s done a good job of adding good weight over the last 2 years
thats right! Small was bigger..dang name throws me off..lol
Wright just looked bigger to me though.
