I will say that the roster for us on 25 is a bit off...

Missing our LT transfer from LSU and Jackson Lampley is starting. I'd say around August/September they'll push a big roster update probably adjust ratings some too.

We're an 85 overall and most the SEC is around that rating... Bama, Georgia, Texas, LSU, & OU all 90 or higher. The weirdest rating was Missouri's offense being at 89.

Hope for a roster update soon. That will drive me nuts until it happens!

Omari thomas is criminally underrated, not talked about enough by the pundits, and should go high in this years draft once the scouts really get a good look at him. One of the guys who’s stuck with us through the Pruitt/huepel transition and really been a rock and leader for this team. Reminds me of Mattew butler personality wise and what he means to the team. A true VFL. Hope he has another healthy huge year.

I have not looked close, but they seemed to weight really heavy on returning offense/defense. Which is dumb in the portal era imo. They also clearly did some things to spark controversy and conversation. Vol twitter is a big target to drive discussion. Arch Manning signed a contract with them. You can clearly see they aligned with connected guys in the form of Sanders and Mannings. Marketing, marketing, marketing.

It is a game and not real life.

The whole Dline is truly an embarrassment of riches this year. The only thing you can really say about them is that they are maybe a little thin on edge rushers.

Good analysis albeit concerning. Missouri was able to anything they wanted offensively against us.

Yeah, but Cody Schrader is gone and he accounted for 1818 of their scrimmage yards. Burden is 2nd at 1243, big fall off after those two.

What bugs me though...
262.3 passing yards per game, 172 rushing yards per game, 434.3 total yards per game and 32.5 ppg that's where they ended up last season.
243.2 passing yards per game, 204.8 rushing yards per game, 448.1 total yards per game and 31.8 ppg that's where we ended up...and they're getting a +6 rating over us?

I mean it's just a game...but also I'm not sure where the logic on some of these ratings are coming from.

Probably a pretty good indicator for why transfer portal rankings should be viewed with a high degree of skepticism. Everybody is leaving their current school for a reason. There are good reasons and bad reasons, but looking at the transfer portal as if talent is all that matters is a mistake.

QBs make a big jump in Heup's system from year 1 to year 2. Nico looked pretty good at the end of year 1 in the bowl game. Stoked to see how much better he has gotten this off season!
