Didn’t someone on here say these dudes in quasi military garb aren’t part of any actual service? Not nat’l guard/reserves or anything? I always assumed they had some sort of affiliation.
Texas A&M is one of 6 senior military colleges under federal law. Not academies.

If you join the Corps of Cadets at A&M, you are required to take ROTC and leadership classes in the Military School for a few semesters, but then it becomes optional. Looks like about half who join then become officers in the armed forces.
