Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Hey, everybody.

Granny's surgery went good. She took the anesthesia well, and the fracture was put back together like they hoped. All praise and glory to the good Lord above! He is truly faithful beyond all measure. The doc and nurses and everyone who has taken care of her are absolutely brilliant! She's resting and hanging in there like the champ she is.

Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. Big Orange brothers and sisters are the greatest in the world, and you prove it day after day without cease. I love you all!

Go Vols.
Fantastic news!!
God is Good🙏🏻

Yeah...I've been saying 24-17 type of game.

I don't care how, or how much...all I care about is just win. Home crowds and all that crap can have a huge outsized effect sometimes and I keep reminding myself that as good as he is...Nico is just a RS Freshman starting only his 5th game in a very hostile environment against a ELITE defensive coach with a good defense to work with.

But..IF..our offense executes at a high level...it will be an execution. It could get away from Okie really fast with our offense.

This makes my nerves bad...I don't want to be a laughingstock anymore, I don't want to hear the "typical overrated fraud Tennessee" garbage like they did in 22 after that freak SC game.

For the first time in over 2 decades...I want take that dumb 💩 and shove it down the rest of CFBs throat.
The thing I keep telling myself is every year there's only one team that never has to eat it in some shape or form. There's only one team that gets to stand tall when it's all said and done, and more than 120 others that are left smarting in some way.

The 2022 team told me Tennessee was not a punchline anymore, the terrible slip-up to South Carolina notwithstanding. That team frequently looked like they belonged among the elite, and they finished ranked higher than any of our teams since 2001. I don't believe we're "back" yet (sustained success is necessary to demonstrate that), but I no longer believe we're wandering in the wilderness. For now, I have to say to myself that that's enough.

But goodness do I want to see the Vols run through Oklahoma like a hot knife through butter. Tennessee has a chance to shake the foundation of college football, the best chance they've had in a long while.

What i've learned today:

Venables will not be able to run his fancy disguise defenses because we go so fast. They will have to be in base defense and quickly decide what they want to stop. . . always leaving something open for us. They can't keep any success from that up for long.

Our defense will keep their offense on the sideline, watching as the life drains out of their defense. We'll start lighting them up about midway through the 2nd quarter and from about 10mins into the 3rd quarter. Our RBs are gonna have a huge day and our wrs should have several big plays.

All this is without considering what Nico is going to do to them with his legs, the new play variations, and what we will do to them before we wear them down.

They don't stand a chance.
