Recruiting Football Talk VIII

OK, fellow morans, I need movie suggestions. Since the Vols are off this week, we are watching a scary/horror movie on the big screen outside Saturday night. Ladies aren't looking for gory, dark but the men don't want animated Disney. Need a compromise. Shoot me suggestions, please.

It's kinda hardcore.

Might not be a popular opinion, but I think they'd be having a similar season had Saban stayed. They had been falling off from their peak under Saban each of the last few years and went from a very disciplined team to one that shot themselves in the foot often. Maybe they get more favorable officiating if Saban was still coach, but I doubt they'd be much better had he stayed. All the legendary coaches that keep coaching into their 70s see their team's on-field performance fall off and I think Saban even saw it coming. It's too hard to micro-manage on the level Saban used to when he's in his 70s.
Highly doubt it. No way Saban loses to Vandy like that. Not with his staff. They were not at their peak but with Saban and his staff they would still be a legit too 10 team. Saban knew how to get the most out of his players. Also it needs to be realized that a Bama team was picked by Saban for his system. If Saban were there right now, I would be willing to bet they would be undefeated. I am not sure we beat them with Saban.

People ragging on Deboer should realize that while he inherited a loaded roster, they doesn’t mean it’s the right one for his particular system.

Damnit I’ll bite who is your top 5 most talented RBs to have played at Tenn D4H?

I started watching football in the late 90s/early 2000s so my top 5 would look like this:

1. Jamal Lewis
2. Alvin Kamara
3. Arian Foster
4. Jalen Hurd
5. Travis Henry

D-Samp would be in a battle for 6th with Cedric Houston. Both just ahead of Jalen Wright and Travis Stephens.

Reactions: Cosmo Kramer
Sampson:
2126 total yards
6.29 yards per touch
31 tds

Kamara:
1977 total yards
6.96 yards per touch
23 tds

Sure the argument that Butch under utilized kamara is valid, but Sampson was rb3 for 2 years and didn’t get the touches he deserved either

My argument isn't based on stats. I'm talking purely talent. Stats are products of the time and system to play in. Dylan Sampson will probably have the best statistical career of any RB in program history and might even be our first Heisman winner. So from a stats perspective no one will probably have an argument against him. I'm talking more from a talent perspective. In terms of talent we've had several guys with better talent. The most obvious being Jamal Lewis who from a talent perspective is probably a top 10 all-time RB talent in the SEC.

the amplified noise guy needs to be destroyed in the court of public opinion until his boss whoever runs his show actually penalizes him for making false statements on air. That kind of stuff is what creates long term narratives that can hurt schools and I don’t know why we as a society let our media lie like that. Biases in media is a defining quality (if not downright feature) of the world we live in today and it’s eating at the fabric of everything we hold dear

**** infuriates me. We deserve better. We deserve the truth regardless if we like it or not. If you can just say any little lie and then say “it was taken out of context” then what’s the point of being a journalist? Go into marketing for Christ’s sake
Damn 1st amendment!...get that 💩 outta here!

The problem with censorship is...who becomes the gatekeepers of truth?.. I'll tell you who...totalitarian government propagandist liars.

Nah...give me free speech...I will decide for myself what the truth is...if people are stupid enough to believe the garbage they consume...it is their owm damn fault.

Sockpuppets all.

Went to school with him so we gotta fit Jay Graham in there.

Jay was like if a bull met a gazelle.
