Early basketball thoughts by @TN-POSSUM:

Lanier shoots every time he touches the ball....every time.

Estrella plays bigger and with more passion than last season.

Okpara (tOSU transfer) looks smoother running the court than Aidoo and he's more aggressive on the glass.

Igor is like a mix of Fulkerson and Uros.

ZZ and Gainey need to find their shot this season. I don't think Chazz can't carry this team like DK did last season.

Mashack is so good on defense.

Carr is who I think will be our biggest surprise player this year.

We are deep this season. Barnes has multiple options at every position. We just need multiple guys that can score consistently. If/when we gel, we will dominate teams. It should be another fun season.

This basketball team is insanely talented and balanced imo. You can't replace Knecht, but I think the team is better top to bottom.

Ok, does anyone recall why we bounced in NCAA? We needed that second and third option. Stop comparing to DK he isnt here anymore.

Please be aware we have whined for years that team passed too much, and relied on DK too much. There werent any dogs, blah blah.

Team looks faster, as tall. Lanier is smooth athlete.

I never noticed how much Rickey Gibson and Jermod McCoy looked alike. Guess greatness makes folks look similar. These two are gonna go down as two of the best corners in Tennessee history.

Estrella played some good defense early.
