Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I interpret that as: "Mike is insanely talented and we want him on the field because he makes us better on offense but there's still some little things he's not doing right and an attention to detail aspect of it that has kept him off the field. If he fixes those things and buys in then he will be huge for us in the final stretch."

Anyone else?
No blocky, no playee. That’s my take away, but I haven’t watched any film.
Similar to Rick Barns. No defense, less playing time.

I'm a Sox fan and big fan of him as well. I did not know that about wanting to play at Vandy. I do recall this interview I just found again where he claimed us, so at least there's that.

Very cool, hadn't seen that. I mean, you have to figure once he committed to the Vols he probably considered himself a Vol going forward, right?

I was just going from an old Athletic article I remembered reading years ago when he was still in Boston, because I remembered thinking "awww man" at the time. I just went and looked it up again, here's the link:

In 'Nash-Vegas,' home to two of Red Sox' most important players, pride runs deep for local baseball talent

And here's the part I was referring to:
Looking back, Betts isn’t entirely sure how he became so enamored with a school he never attended. It’s not like he latched onto one particular player and dreamed of following that exact blueprint, but at some point, as a high school standout just six miles from the Vanderbilt campus, Betts became obsessed with the hometown university.

“I did catch myself always talking about Vandy and wanting to go to Vandy,” Betts said. “That was actually my goal. I just wanted to go to Vandy and play.”

And he had his chance. Coach Tim Corbin wanted to sign Betts and almost had him enrolled, but by the time Betts was a high school senior in 2011, he knew the Nashville baseball scene a little too well. Or, maybe, he just didn’t know himself well enough.

Betts looked at that Vanderbilt roster with his old friend Kemp at second base – SEC Freshman of the Year, first-team all-conference – and didn’t see an opening for his own playing time. Betts committed to the University of Tennessee, instead, then wound up jumping straight into pro ball anyway.

Lord... the delusion doesn't stop eh?

Nico: 63.5%, 1413 yards, 8 TDs, 4 INTs
Brock: 57.1%, 1236 yards, 6 TDs, 5 INTs

WRs:
Kentucky's best 4, 77 catches for 1034 yards and 5 total TDs
Vols' best 4, 70 catches for 1121 yards and 5 total TDs

TEs:
Kentucky's 7 catches for 68 yards and 0 total TDs
Vols' 24 catches for 207 yards and 4 total TDs

Kentucky is probably the only SEC school that you can objectively say we are better than everywhere offensively.
