It’s a real problem. We’re trying to take that next step and cannot tolerate losing two 5* linemen especially when losing so much OL after this year. All I've heard is the highest ranked G5 team makes it. I've not heard they have to be within a specific ranking. Could be true, but I haven't heard it mentioned.

I think they demonstrated one of the highest ceilings this year. Kiffin teams have a habit of picking a couple of games a year to just not show up.

But I thought they had to be ranked in the top 15

The auto bids go to the 5 highest ranked conference champions.

Since the pac2 no longer counts, inherently, the 5th auto-bid goes to a group of 5 champ.

theoretical example:
If Tulane won the AAC while ranked 40th and no other conference champion (outside of the big4) was ranked higher than them, 40th ranked Tulane would be #12.
