Recruiting Football Talk VIII

One of these years we are going to get a Sampson type and a Skattebo type on the same team and have 3,000 yards rushing between em
I am surprised Keith didn’t fit in the role. If it was me I would definitely use a bigger back later in the 2nd and 4th quarter. I am sure Hype wants that home run when the defense is tired but that bruised imo is so much better in that time.

Beilema is wrong imo. If you institute a salary cap then you go back to paying players under the table in excess of the cap and only the traditional powers will be able to pull that off without major sanctions. It works at the professional level because there's a major component of roster building that's involuntary for the player and at the draft there's standard contract amounts based on where you are drafted.

The way it is now is the fairest its been for a while. If you build up a good program your NIL purse will grow as you secure more fans and donors.

The only thing that would help you out is if programs had to pay out other schools for a transfer. That way if you find and develop a guy that becomes a star your program gets rewarded when he moves on.

I'm sure there are in cases or analogies where a mega-donor/alum and/or business gets significant influence over certain departments. Maybe Tyson Foods for example giving huge amounts of money to specific poultry science programs, having those schools train graduates to do research on Tyson's production models and eventually hiring those students like a feeder program. Thus they could control the information in some ways. We have the Haslam College of Business. Could be influence there.
Influence for sure. But actual ownership stake seems questionable. And no PE is going to invest that amount of money for influence. They will obviously be looking for ROI.

Do you all think that if Texas blows out UGA and gives them a 3rd loss...will the committee drop them behind us or keep them in front because of the head to head win?
In front. Now if it were a blowout the other way around, maybe, maybeee Texas could drop enough to shake things up.

Speaking of balls. . . do any of you make sausage balls?
Knowing the responses I am likely to get with this, I'll say it anyway. My wife makes excellent sausage balls. Before she developed Celiac she used to get orders for them all of the time. Hasn't found a good GF recipe yet, unfortunately.

Lol. The committee people looked like they were being held hostage and being forced to watch games.
I was thinking the same thing. The people who should be on the committee would love to spend all day watching football on big screens in recliners. They're thinking...why do we have to do this? We already know who we're putting where depending on the games outcomes.
