Recruiting Football Talk VIII

They are....according to the numbers they are. UGA is not as good as they usually are, but they are still loaded and stout...they make plays.

How can you be watching this PSU-Oregon game and not see the stark difference in their defenses and UGA-Texas?
I guess I'm still just thinking about all the penalties that changed the game more than any real defense. They're good defenses, but neither were "great" in that game. The offenses were not great either.

It was not fun to watch because we were seeing 2 great defenses put on an incredible performance.

Obviously big things going on tonight, but something heartwarming:

My daughter gave up her paci today. What makes my heart so full is we told her there was a paci fairy that wanted to give her pacis to a baby that didn't have one and if she was okay with that she could give it to me. This little 2yr old girl, with sadness in her eyes, handed me the paci from her mouth AND her blanket. Of course I gave her blanket back much to her delight.

At naptime today she quietly sobbed until she fell asleep clutching and biting her blanket. When she woke up she was greeted to several presents outside her bedroom from the "paci fairy". Since waking up from her nap she hasnt asked for her paci a single time. She just went to bed without crying or asking for it. Now she's asleep.

Always thought I wouldn't lie to my kids about fairies and such but not only did that work beautifully it showed me more what a beautiful little human heart she has. Dusty man.
🧡🧡🧡, what great and patient parents you and your wife are. I wished I had that thinking when I was a young parent. Thankfully, my son never used his paci much. Kudos to you and your wife.

Franklin desperately rummaging through his bag of tricks already

Yikes
Someone here, I won't call out his name, was going on about Penn St, so I looked up their last game. It came down to a fake punt to keep possession on nearly the last play of the game. Sportswriters fawning over the play! Franklin's bag of tricks, don't ya know. So I looked up a clip of the play on X.

I spotted two very obvious blocks in the back and one flagrant hold. You didn't even have to hunt them. Just follow the ball carrier: the fouls were at every key point on the run. This prevented a last second FG by the opposition to wreck the Penn St story.
