Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Another thing of note:

Last year, UT had 3 losses going into SEC play and wound up with a 2 seed in the NCAAT after a 14-4 conference record.

UT will 99% likely be undefeated going into SEC play this season. Just a respectable 13-5 record in SEC play should generate our program’s first ever #1 seed in the NCAAT. A 12-6 conference record would have us in the mix. The SEC is even tougher than last year, so every game will be important.

This has potential to be another memorable season.

How do we feel about Guarantano trying to come back to the Vol sphere of media? He’s lobbying to get on podcasts on Twitter pretty heavily.
Good with me. Dude gave his all. Was dealt a crappy hand and never turned on the Vols. Had chances to say negative things and never did.

Got a lot of hate, but honestly the kid was put into an impossible situation. NEW OC pretty muc every year. Had to play under Pruitt.
I don't remember him doing any lame or bad mouthing the fan base.

Why shouldn't any VFL be welcomed back? Man gave his all for 5 years in Knoxville. Used his Covid year at Wazzu when Heupel came in (Pruitt brought in Hooker, Heupel brought in Milton - writing on the wall. Can't blame him).

As long as a VFL is good as an analyst then let them in. No reason he can't bring something to sports talk like Swain and Ainge. It's good to have multiple eras represented too I think.

Edit: His degree wasn't in broadcasting or anything but I always remember him being well spoken and intelligent. Maybe he could work his way into SEC Network as a broadcaster or analyst.

The rut never ends in the Sip
Oh yes..... The sight of the magnolia trees, coupled with the smell of Louisiana corndogs blowing off the Mighty Mississip drives yetis buck wild. Too bad it's a 200 to 1, male to female ratio. It makes for low herd numbers and awkward dance parties.

Idk if anyone else heard all that went down but the Belichek to Carolina deal was a big time cluster F behind the scenes. Basically had the Tulane coach hired before he found out the people from Carolina didn’t have the authority to offer the job. This experiment has the potential to explode into a dumpster fire in a year or two.
