Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Happy Wednesday!

December 17, 2024: This is a time when your perspective of life and relevance will undergo an adjustment. You will be able to see the cycle of life with greater understanding and clarity. Use this time to do all that you can to fulfill your destiny in Christ. Jesus is your past, your present, and your future. John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Reading social media posts-- seems SEC fans are really rooting for us to beat Ohio State. Honestly, I would do the same. Ohio State and Texas are my least favorite teams.
Unfortunately, I'm rooting for SEC teams in the playoff—mainly because the committee seems to have a clear bias toward the Big Ten and Notre Dame.

Still curious if we can get pressure with 4. That was our failure vs UGA and we've seen the stats on here when OSU's pressured by more, they pick the defense apart.

The beginning of the game will be telling if we can pressure or have to change things up and take the risk we'd rather not have to.
We failed at nothing on defense. This narrative drives me nuts. Go back and watch this game and only watch our line when we are on defense. It is crime what the officials did. There was more molestation going on than a Diddy party.

Neyland would be $500 per ticket if you were able to find any on the resale market
Yeah $500, if you were you wanted to sit where you could clean off the lighted letters. It would be 5x more for good lower bowl tix. The good tix in Blohio are going for $200. Those yankees deserve the shame that Vol Twitter is dumping on them and they don't deserve a team. I actually feel a little sorry for the team, it's hard when you find out your family doesn't love you. WGWTFA.

You live 45 miles from there and it took you this long to buy tickets??? Glad you pulled the trigger. Have a blast, and hopefully yall get to celebrate a victory!
Yeah, initially I assumed the resale market would keep them over 300+, but they just kept dropping and dropping. Went ahead and grabbed a couple last night for me and my son. You don't understand how much I hate the cold, but I'd have regretted not going when they're this close. So we'll be there.

All I know is that if this game was in Neyland, I'd have stood no shot to get in the door. Those tickets would've been triple what we paid here in Columbus.

May
Seems to be happening in other places also. I wonder if home fans are waiting until the 2rd+ round road games to spend their money on instead of at home. Better for the visiting teams fans.

Maybe if they didn't put garbage DEI teams in the playoff. Ya think there would be better ticket sales if Alabama, Ole Miss, and South Carolina were in. It'll affect the tv ratings as well. The line is that people are sick of the same teams every year, other teams deserve a chance. Well the other teams should stop sucking at football. What people are really sick of is this everybody gets a trophy stuff.

I truly think that when the Playoff is expanded to 16 or 24 teams, then the Bowl games will be hosting every matchup. The home playoff games will disappear in the next 5 years.
I personally think that’s the way it should be now. Even if we had a home game, I don’t think a team that makes the playoff should have the disadvantage of having to play their first round game at the opponent’s home stadium. Let the best team win every game in a neutral environment.

At least triple! Maybe more. Glad you and your son get to go. I’m really hoping somehow someway we could get to the national championship game. It would be the cheapest I would be able to ever go to that game if we ever make it there, because I live literally 45 minutes From Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The only cost would be the tickets which I know would be astronomical, but it would be 1,000,000% worth it.

If you can go, you should at this point. Tickets are under $200 for actual good seats. If they are just going to let us walk in and take over their stadium, then we should oblige them.

I really cant unsee the toilet bowl now.

Jeez I wish I could go...😢

I can't believe OSU fans are this pathetic...they do not deserve the success that program has...or the players to play hard for them

Absolutely pathetic....I hope we NEVER become like them. It's like a whole fanbase made up of Idiot Margin types.

They should give given us this homegame...OSU does not deserve it.

Neyland would be SRO
I feel the same way. What a pathetic pack of losers those yankees are. They don't know anything about football, they are arrogant as hell, entitled pricks. I wish we could vote them off the island.
I am however feeling really confident about this game and the next war we fight with the yankees. Soft as marshmallows.

UT - 27
Tulsa - 6

The Vols made their first Bowl game since 1957 a memorable one. In a downpour, Dewey Warren ran for 2TDs and threw for 1TD in UT’s 27-6 victory over Tulsa in the Bluebonnet Bowl at Rice Stadium. Stan Mitchell scored the last td on an 11 yrd run. Tulsa threw for 250 yrds, but had 4 interceptions and 3 fumbles in the rain. The Vols finished 8-1-2 and ranked #7.
