The NCAA and the universities and conferences are are not the same. The NCAA in name is the governing body of intercollegiate athletics. They have for a while now abdicated their power, failed to act on many issues, and now are a toothless tiger.
The new structure will be about 40-50 top tier programs ruling themselves and everybody else. I am not saying there is any less corruption at the conference level, the SEC is plenty corrupt, but there will be more localized control and the NCAA is out. It's like how the Dobbs decision got the abortion issue out of the feds hands and sent it back to the states.
It's a new day it America, in a lot of things.

They are among the most active portal teams and certainly have big money backing. I like Dan Lanning a lot, but I see him doing pretty much what Kirby is doing—but with more of an emphasis on the portal. How are they different in your eyes?

Oregon has the money to be the biggest spender, but they aren’t.

I think that kirby is too much like saban to have a soul.
Same things that happen in bama are now happening at uga. Ridiculous criminal infractions just disappear. No accountability for their actions. Coaches are win at any cost.

Just my personal opinion. Doesn’t have to be the absolute truth.

Oh, and your adult fans bark at people now. That’s just weird.

Everything I’ve heard is grade 2 injury: maybe a small tear, maybe just a bad strain. If it were grade 3 needing Tommy John, I think they would have done it already.

From a playoff standpoint, though, I have no reason to believe he’s playing and lots of reasons to believe he’s not.

Well...that's true as far as getting a ton of money, but at the cost of his coaching reputation and career. I mean....he was getting the money anyway, but crashing and burning so badly ruined his legacy and career.

He may be an expensive joke...but he is a total joke now.

The university is more about the 40k students that pay to go there for an education, than for the few incredibly privileged athletes who get paid. And without the university, there is no team, no coach, and no venue. Changes are clearly happening, some good, some not, but meaningful change takes time.

Not entirely true. In the beginnings of college football it was primarily promoted by the most prestigious academic institutions because it was the best PR a school could have. Football was the front porch of a university. Today CFB and college athletics generate tremendous revenue for universities.
Enrollment at the University of Alabama has nearly doubled in the Nick Saban era and also doubled in the Bear Bryant era. This is largely due to a successful football program.
There is a reason why UT is as large as it is today and why Sewanee (a very prestigious school) is as small as it is. In 1900 the enrollment of both universities was around 300. Today: Swanee <1000, UT about 40,000.
