Maybe, maybe, just maybe Vegas needs to get with the program. Ever seen the movie:Keep an eye on these refs over the next week. Vegas may be hammering some knees after the refs couldn't make us lose.
Did you watch the Illinois game. Will have the same outcome!Told y'all the other day we were going to get this corrupt scumbag puppet crew...we are screwed.
The NCAA and the universities and conferences are are not the same. The NCAA in name is the governing body of intercollegiate athletics. They have for a while now abdicated their power, failed to act on many issues, and now are a toothless tiger.Same same, no?
It's the universities still controlling. Just a new public face in front of them.
Same shiz, new day.
As long as the unis control things, they'll continue trying to push down the SAs and their interests. You can only put so much lipstick on the new pig...still the same old pig.
Oregon has the money to be the biggest spender, but they aren’t.I don’t disagree with your larger point, but I’m curious why you put UGA among the no soul teams and Oregon among the builders. UGA is normally less active in the portal than its peers (though it took more last year). Beck is touted recruit who waited years to play, and Stockton is, too. I think two starters are transfers and most of the roster are high school recruits. 5 stars are riding the pine behind walk-ons and lower-rated guys who play the right way. UGA certainly plays the NIL game at a competitive level, but so do all the teams you list. Oregon is starting a transfer QB who is replacing a transfer QB. They are among the most active portal teams and certainly have big money backing. I like Dan Lanning a lot, but I see him doing pretty much what Kirby is doing—but with more of an emphasis on the portal. How are they different in your eyes?
Everything I’ve heard is grade 2 injury: maybe a small tear, maybe just a bad strain. If it were grade 3 needing Tommy John, I think they would have done it already.I heard he needs Tommy John surgery like pitchers in baseball. That can take a year or more to fully recover in some cases. If true, theres no way he plays again this season. UGA is much more beatable without him.
Is it good practice to flip the chip around and dip.. he may ask if called out on his treacherous behavior.Ryan Day double dips his chips at parties.
He dips, he takes a bite,....and then he dips again.
Well...that's true as far as getting a ton of money, but at the cost of his coaching reputation and career. I mean....he was getting the money anyway, but crashing and burning so badly ruined his legacy and career.I don't know. Old Jimbo came out alright.
Not entirely true. In the beginnings of college football it was primarily promoted by the most prestigious academic institutions because it was the best PR a school could have. Football was the front porch of a university. Today CFB and college athletics generate tremendous revenue for universities. Why is it necessary to paint the universities as villains? Do you think Danny White and Randy Boyd are sitting in some ivory tower scheming how they can screw the SAs out of their due? I don't.
The university is more about the 40k students that pay to go there for an education, than for the few incredibly privileged athletes who get paid. And without the university, there is no team, no coach, and no venue. Changes are clearly happening, some good, some not, but meaningful change takes time.
