I remember seeing these videos in his recruiting thread. Boo is special

Why not play him on offense? He's obviously got the ability. And that's been my biggest gripe about Heupel, especially on offense....... he's loyal to the upperclassmen to a fault. I'm not saying the freshmen are better options but if you're upperclassmen starters are playing hurt, then put the younger talent on the field. Slants and go-routes ain't rocket science.

I'm sure we'll have some clowns on here saying he's still a VFL.

You should need to have a degree from UT &/or UT is the last college you played for to be a VFL. (Exceptions for players who were forced to leave because of something like the Beldar Cornbread situation)

One of my wishes for christmas was for bama to fall back to the early 2000 days....Dubose, Franchione, Mike Price(woops) and Shula, where they barely made .500 each year.

Yes.

Alabama also had multiple players run onto the field to celebrate the sack.

They did this against us in ‘23. At least eight guys ran from the bench on to the field, surrounded a player and threw punches. No flag. This was on the weird penalty call play that pinned us at the one. We should have started that drive at the 31. Minimum.

In transfer portal era there's a lot of nuance to who I grant the title "VFL"

If you go to a bitter rival, you don't get that title. If you got your degree and lost your starting spot to a younger guy or something, I'll probably grant it (unless you run your mouth about UT after). But mostly you got to earn it and think fondly of your time in Knoxville to earn that.

Anyone who transfers to Bama, Georgia, Florida, etc clearly didn't learn what it meant to be a Vol.

Well, obviously because we had Mike Matthews playing WR. You can't have 2 freshmen WRs playing at the same time.



*IMO: Boo was really needed on defense and they limited him to 1 side of the ball to cut down on his chances of getting injured.

You have admit Boo made a lot of tackles that nipped long TD runs in the bud. Everything is OK. I think he was going to get guest appearances on offense all along.

Harder to learn the defensive side. He got a year of focusing on defense to learn that position. Now we can add his playmaking ability to offense while he has a whole year of playing the STAR under his belt.

Jalen Milroe is just dumb. Not a good QB at all. He is a 5* athlete that should have been a RB his whole life.

Thats a mistake that seems to happen a lot more in the South than up north. Maybe just because there are so many more elite athletes down here...but it seems like youth coaches up through HS tend to make the best athletes their QB. I understand the (flawed) logic that making your best athlete the QB means the ball is in his hands on every snap...but that is EXACTLY the problem too. They make bad reads, don't remember which route the WRs actually run on each play, try to run when they should be going thru their progressions etc. Milroe is the perfect example of this. He has missed wide open WRs, not understood the playcall to know a WR would be wide open as soon as they cleared past the LB, been super late in his progressions...you name it. Better off putting someone else at QB and riding a Milroe type 30 carries per game at RB if you need to. He is a turnover machine and liability as a QB.
