That screen pass to the RB was a good call on the last drive. The only play Bama had that gained 10+ yards in what seemed like the whole 2nd half. The real question is: against a DC in Martindale that is known to be blitzhappy and a Dline that is headhunting on every snap...why didn't Bama come into this game with 4 or 5 screens or similar designed specifically to gouge a defense when they are overly aggressive? Thats football 101. Leaking a TB into the flat, TE slants and hooks, shallow crossing routes etc. Thats how you punish a defense for sending the blitz all the time and allowing their Dline to push too far upfield.
Bama fans should be upset about that playcalling. It was terrible. At the same time, they had both outside WRs open at varying times and their QB didn't see them.
