Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Bloody exhibition iirc. I grew up in Red Bank and my buddy down the street was a huge Cowboys fan. We made a gentleman’s agreement that whomever’s team won, neither would gloat. Welched in the first quarter! 😅 Didn’t help that his dad was a devoted Redskins fan and added to the pile-on. Friendship didn’t survive past that day.
That was during the downfall years of Tom Landry....

Yeah, I know.

Funny story about that. The day I graduated from basic, my platoon sergeant shook my hand and said something along the lines of "Congrats private. I believe you'll be an officer one day." I gave him the "No Drill Sergeant! I'm an enlisted man!", but it turned out that crusty infantry E7 knew some things. I like to think that being prior-service enlisted made me a better officer...maybe...hopefully.
I think it should be a requirement to be enlisted before commissioning. The best officers are mustangers!

Setting our ignorant conversation aside and branching off it at the same time. Part of my business relies on DoD contracts so I’m very appreciative and aware of military sacrifices. So thank you for your service.
Army was the kick in the a$$ I needed at the time. It set the stage for the rest of my career.

Speaking of DoD...DPAS businesses nearly put me out of business during the supply chain issues. They were snatching up all of a critical component, preventing us from getting any at all. Some did this even if they didn't need them...sold them into the secondary market. Our primary distributor put up over $4M to help us buy parts from the gray market at about a 2000% markup over normal retail, so we survived. It frustrated me so much we got a CAGE code and started looking into what it would take to buy under DPAS. The irony was that we sell to many defense related companies (Lockheed Martin, Navy shipyards, Redstone, among others), but without DPAS we couldn't get the parts to fulfill orders to them. The parts eventually freed up, so I didn't pursue it further, but I still renew the CAGE every year. Speaking of which, it's about time to renew...

Watch Vols have the best first half performance of the playoffs against OSU and UT fans still complain. Without our best offensive player.

That’s what I’m starting to think. It’s possible our game looks half decent in retrospect. Time will tell.

Man dart is running a ton in this bowl game. Didn't take the lesson from the last Ole miss qb who lost millions in a bowl game.

Beautiful wife and a multimillion dollar company work?

I’ve done more in my 45 years than you have in your 80 years old man
I’m pretty close to going full-blown Roy D. Mercer aka Leroy Mercer on you, Bucky. .Leave SSvol alone.
It ain’t nothing for me to whoop a man’s ass
