Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Its crazy that Beck will make $4M at miami next year...Levis makes $950k. Granted Levis got a signing bonus, but any way you twist it Beck is making more per year than Levis.

Why would you ever go pro if you could make the same or better money in college? Posted up on a campus where everything is free to you, people treat you like celebrities, and there are thousands of beautiful girls your age within a half mile radius that think you're a hero?? Bet we don't see many QBs and WRs leaving early anymore...why would you? Maybe RBs because they have a very short lifespan age wise. Other positions? No way I would leave early if I was Nico or Mike Matthews etc.
2nd contract money in the NFL will always dwarf NIL payouts. There’s going to be a Beck type QB who’s good enough to get a high NIL deal but not good enough to be an early round draft pick but it won’t be common enough to become a norm

If it happens, I feel bad for the kids that bought his schtick and went to Colorado, but I don't feel bad for Colorado. They should have known they were getting hoodwinked all along.
Well they were 1-11

They'd take the Sanders show over that

Also, screw Colorado because of that annoying tie from back in the day

Hard to imagine his shtick would work in the NFL with grown men. Definitely agree that Colorado knew what they were getting into. I would be shocked if he was ever successful as an NFL head coach. I’m also biased as I don’t like him and think he’s an attention wh@re.

If Deion does go to the NFL, wonder if we would be interested in the drama queen, Jordan Seaton?

Idk what % Brady owns, but hard to believe (at least to me ) he would sign off on Deion and Shedeur.

I cannot provide rational analysis on anything Deion. I can easily acknowledge he is one of the best athletes to play the game, but hate dang near everything he has done outside the lines, college and pro.

Yeah, they were such a successful program before Deion. Can't believe all they got out of it was a Heisman and a bunch of money and publicity.

If he leaves and a new coach can keep up the momentum, it was worth it.
That was my thought as well. My next thought was, I don't see them getting a coach that can keep the momentum. When Deion leaves, so do the players he convinced to come there. You look at the mass exodus from UT a few years ago, it'll be worse than that.

Only if you are good enough. Not sure Levis is seeing big 2nd contract money.

Yes because it blows my mind that we have fans that are miserable and thinks the program is trash. The program is in a really good spot. Has won 30 games over the past 3 years.
You can be good and still feel like it’s still not enough. And even though that feeling doesn’t feel good it’s what drives you to get better and eventually become great.

I’m glad that the fanbase isn’t satisfied with winning 30 games in the past 3 years because good can absolutely be the enemy of great. So don’t accept anything less than great my friends, you deserve it just as much as the rest of our fanbase.
