Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Yep. I dont gamble but I would lay $100 on the under. Either way its a win. Would be perfectly happy to lose that $100 and be super impressed that the coaches pulled that off. Pope and Elarbee should be vindicated if we manage 10 wins because their groups will have to be much improved with far less experience

And giving them Chargers.

Yeah, and bags and houses, etc. But notice the old inveterate liar said the opposite last year.
Saban also shot down any belief the changing landscape of college football, like NIL, was behind his reasoning for leaving the job.

"Don't make it about that. It's not about that," Saban said. "To me, if you choose to coach, you don't need to be complaining about all that stuff. You need to adjust to it and adapt to it and do the best you can under the circumstances and not complain about it. Now, I think everybody is frustrated about it.

"But it ain't about that. We've been in this era for three years now, and we've adapted to it
Of course that was a lie, too.

Here’s another thing he said, for people who don’t remember who it is who wants to be the commissioner of football.
Though Saban has stepped down, he's not going away [from the Alabama program] completely.

"I'm going to be here, so I'm going to be here for (the players). I'm going to have a presence. I'm going to stay in Tuscaloosa. They're giving me an office in the stadium. I said (to the players) I can get on your butt from there just like I can from on the field."
Also,
"I will be dedicated to college football [Alabama] and the future of college football [Alabama]," Saban said. "...I'm going to be an advocate for trying to make the game [Alabama] as good as it can be [for Alabama.]
Meaning,
[Tennessee beat me out for Nico. I had the NCAA go after them using rigged up policies special for the occasion, but it was unconstitutional. But if I change enough rules and policies and go back to our complete exemption from enforcement I can beat them that way.
[I need Congress to say the constitution doesn’t apply to my actions. Washington is a huge bag game, and that is my forte. I’ve been working on it for a year. I think I need a title that misrepresents my history and intentions.]

We are replacing 4/5 starters on our Oline...have an entirely new and unproven WR room except a returning freshman that scored 2 whole TDs on Vandy, on plays designed for him to score mind you, and Brazzells 4TDs in a struggle of a season...and these clowns showing UT as a preseason Top10 team and Nico a legit Heisman contender.

Lmao.

I am an admitted sunshine pumper, positive guy who is extremely happy with the program, the roster, and the staff. Love where we are as a program and we are still on an upward trajectory. That said...those are ridiculous expectations.

For UT to make the playoffs at 10-2 and Nico to be even considered for awards he will have to throw for 35TDs for sure. Hendon threw for 37TDs against only 3INT and wasnt invited. We have 6 COLLEGE TDS TOTAL RETURNING AMONG OUR 7 WRS. Heard is likely the only returning starter on our Oline. Satterwhite at Center and Sanders at RTackle will be brand new to starting in the SEC or college for that matter. Both Guard spots are wide open. As are the backups at all 5 spots on Oline.

But we are gonna steamroll the SEC next season and win 2/3 of @Flarda, @bama, UGA at home...because we have dropped a road game to a "lesser team" every year since Moses used to walk me to my bus stop. Just don't see it guys. We will have a good and exciting season, with plenty to be happy and excited about. Don't see a playoff run next season though.

I will be SUPER happy if I am wrong. I was wrong this year. I thought we would drop 3 games and we didn't. I just hate to see us put up on a pedestal with unrealistic expectations so then the media and Negas can try and beat us down next year like we underachieved. Any SEC coach with our Oline and WR questions is gonna struggle a bit at least until those 2 units gel and get experience. Will be very interesting to see how defenses play us next year. I am excited to see what the young WRs can do, and who is gonna separate themself from the pack. Excited to see the 3 freshmen LBs we have too, and what impact they have. I think at least 1 of them plays like Arion Carter did as a freshman. They are bluechip kids with a lot of talent.
College football has always been about replacing the talent you lost from the previous year. Guys step into bigger roles every year, for every team. If we have hit on our recruits and bend developing them correctly, no reason we should drop just because of what we lose this year.

Is she naive or just plain dumb?

I’m surprised honestly. Figured she had delivered a bag at least once or twice herself.
Is that a dude? Seriously. Anyway, does s/he think that using kool aid on her hair makes her “relatable” to "the youth"?

She liked to swing by the dealership with the old cheater and see how happy the players were with their cars. Prolly really made herself believe they chose Alabama because of her little pancake parties. And the parent sing alongs, passing out the little envelopes. Then, in Saban's last three years, according to Saban's newly invented story, his wife claims the players and parents didn't care about her or Nick anymore. She had to listen to that bad singing and make the pancakes for a bunch entitled ingrates. 😂 "They was so sweet when theys was the poors," she said.

I was lucky Jermaine Burton did take a swing at me, she said.

Classic line in the post: every year since Moses used to walk me to my bus stop.

I take the poster's point. Caution is advised for the upcoming year given the WR turnover and OLINE. Both gave us fits this year though we overcame (thanks Dylan). But, if Nico does progress to be 'that guy', playoffs again next year would be expected. QB is the most critical piece. Now, can we finally put both a solid D and O together?

I agree on all counts. Especially that when we can put an offense good enough to score 30 or 35 points on the UGA, OSU defenses we are gonna be unstoppable. I say this because I believe that now Banks and company have good talent on defense, we will have a top 20 defense every year and hopefully top 10. Garner, Inge, Chop, Martinez etc have been recruiting and developing at a very high level. Just need an offense similar to 2022. I think that happens in 2026. I understand some folks disagree, and enjoy reading you gents opinions.
