Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Hi VN fam. I’ve been less active than normal lately. I love VN and while I don’t post a lot, I’m usually active in reading the board and “liking” posts.

We live in the mid-state. My wife and I have a 4 year old boy. We just had a second boy in early January (which I proudly posted about a month ago - and I thank you all for the likes and well wishes associated to that post). Wife and kids are doing great.

However… to get to the heart of this post… I have a lump on my skull (on the bone) that has come about very randomly and fairly abruptly. Since the arrival of our son in January, I’ve had several appointments in rapid succession including X-ray and full head/skull MRI. MRI showed all soft tissue to be in good shape and normal/healthy (no brain tumors - which is obviously great news). However, I have a “Full Body Nuclear Bone Scan” later this week and a meeting with Tennessee Oncology next week. There is a chance this is a benign bone tumor. There is also apparently plausible concern this is a rare metastasized bone cancer (I am hopeful as I feel healthy otherwise - I exercise regularly and have no other noticeable issues with my body).

Asking you all for positive thoughts and prayers over the next week or two as my family gains clarity on this. Not as much for me in the sense that it’s all about me… but more-so from the perspective of how this could impact my sons. Young kids need their parents.

I am a believer and Daniel 3:16-18 comes to mind right now. We are called to have an “Even if…” faith. When we are thrown into the furnace, we know God can deliver us. But “even if…” He is still God. And God is good, even when it’s beyond our understanding.

We remain positive and encouraged. But praying for a benign situation and many more years of VN activity. Asking you all for the same.

Praying for you and your family……keep your faith strong. God is with you

A really good rim protector/rebounder would have made the team that much better. Lebron and Luka making Hayes look good offensively tho
Hayes can keep up with their quickness very well.

Hes had what? 4 alley oops dunks? Hayes is a very athletic hard working player.

Idk, LeBron and Luka have such elite basketball IQ's, Reaves is really versatile, Hachimura is tough. They have plenty of wings including our boy Dalton who can light it up. They can potentially be so hard to guard that they don't need elite rim protection.

May the good Lord keep and comfort you, brother. May He watch over you and your family with abundant love and righteousness.

5 or 6 now. They have an amazing well rounded offensive team for sure. Someone like a walker kessler would have made them dang near impossible to beat tho. The playoffs will be fun to watch this year for once

Yeah Kessler would be perfect. They're just so think at the 5 they need anyone who can provide at least decent minutes to back up Hayes.

Either way...they are a very impressive team. Blew them out with a weakened Luka, game 1, with LeBron not having a crazy game either.

Praying that when they do these tests that God blows these Drs minds that there will be nothing there. God is still in the healing business.

DK looks miserable on the Lakers bench. I would be to tho if I had to go back to a team that wanted to get rid of me just a few days ago.
Management wanted to get trade him. Doesn't necessarily mean Reddick and his teammates wanted to trade him. It's a business. And DK is pretty well compensated. Have to check your feelings at the door and just go out there and play.

Anyone that doesn’t think this will work in LA is insane
Waiting for D4H's approval, lol.

Funny how he hasn't said much about this trade since AD got hurt in his first game for the Mavs. I mean, who could have seen that coming, except, oh, I don't know, anyone who has paid the slightest attention to AD's injury history in recent years. I feel bad for AD, but the last few years he's been off and on the IR. Big dudes put a lot of wear and tear on their bodies, as the Lakers saw in trying to trade for Williams.

Go with what you have. Not sure any good big men will be on the buy-out market. Go out after the season and find an appropriate big in FA.
