Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Obviously the staff sees it differently or they wouldn’t be recruiting him hard.

I actually like how our staff prioritizes recruiting. Look at all our 5-stars. They're almost all at premium positions like QB, WR, OT, and D-Line. We've not landed any 5-stars at RB, LB, or DB. I personally would like to see us get some 5-star DBs but otherwise I think we've been smart in who we go all-in for. We went all-in for Nico and Faizon. Which makes sense cause there's nothing more important than getting your guy at QB. We got Mike Matthews and are now going all-in on Tristan Keys. Then there's David Sanders and Jordan Ross/Isiah Campbell.

We're wisely targeting 5-stars at QB, WR, offensive tackle, and edge rusher. Those are the most important positions when it comes to getting 5-star players.

Last year we had an alpha player that could take over games. We don't have an alpha player, much less one that can take over games. This team is very average at best. Maybe 15-20. Will exit the tourny in 1-2 games. Wait and see.
Opinions are free to have. However this is just a really bad one. If you have paid attention to the entire college basketball landscape and have any idea what you are watching when you watch a game then you would realize calling this team "average at best" is simply dumbfounding.

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Your's is pretty bad in itself. Having played basketball up until my body said "no", when a team is getting blown out at home by another meaty okra team, even though they came back, it screams inconsistency. The Vols do not have an alpha player that can take over the game. Some point to ZZ but when your alpha is a 5'-6" point guard, you're in trouble. I love ZZ but he can't take over a game consistently.

Being consistent is what makes teams have deep runs in the tournament. The Vols can beat anyone but the can lose to anyone.

Do you take prescription meds ever? Drink alcohol? Both are way worse for you.

It’s a stupid law.
Not necessarily true. Now that it’s legal in so many states, the long term effects and cancers associated with it are now being noted. It’s not the innocuous thing that it was always portrayed to be.

The interesting part is that the original plant really was pretty harmless to smoke occasionally.

The new genetically modified plants as well as the edibles and vapes with their much higher concentrations are likely where the issues are coming from. Same with the high dose nicotine in vapes.

Never ceases to amaze me how many can screw up something that nature provides safely. 😐

I needed this one. Happy Sunday

February 16, 2025: You have embarked on a new era. You have come full circle and have opportunities to begin again. But, you will have to take every opportunity to make more righteous choices this time around. Keep your focus clearly on doing what will produce the best outcome morally and spiritually, says the Lord. Refuse to allow selfish ambition to drive you. Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
