Recruiting Football Talk VIII

My algorithm has moved on from midgets to flat-earth. I watched one video about the planets alignment from someone who apparently thinks the earth is flat, now that's all i'm getting. I'm really kinda surprised at how many people actually believe this. . . i mean fully, all-in believe it with every fiber of their soul.
As a science guy this boggles and blows my mind. How can anyone who is not brain dead or mentally ill believe the earth is flat? I guess the same people who believed that aliens built the pyramids.

I think part of the thing with Pearce is he's just a quiet guy. I think in this specific situation saying anything is just fanning a dying flame.

Cause it'll quickly get turned around to a "if there aren't concerns why did he feel the need to address it?"

To me a real character issue guy would be Tyler Baron...but he has less draft stock so no one is trying to create a false narrative to have him slide.
I would normally agree that it's best to say nothing publicly, but now they're trying to blame his supposed character issues on the people at Tennessee. That will 100% be used against Tennessee in recruiting.

Meanwhile the players at UGA get a pass for their BS and bama's basketball players were simply "in the wrong place at the wrong time".

One of the cool things I've seen in this mess is the mirages in the sky, where the light bends and shows a full city from 100+ miles away in the sky. One was Chicago across the great lakes, that was cool. There's another one in china that's pretty wild looking too. Of course they claim it's no mirage, 👀
ohh, I'll have to look for that.

I mean Tennessee should speak up, but I'm saying for Pearce it makes no real sense. Will Heupel, Banks or RG say anything though...don't know.

I mean dude scored on 24% of his catches & lead team in yards with just 26 catches…

Volume is really the only reason he didn’t have bigger numbers, we seemed to mostly use Thornton as a deep threat, White & Bru got more targets as well as Miles.
I hope he gets drafted high and does great in the league, but imo the biggest thing they held him back this past year was tapping his helmet

Yep! I mean actual criminal records being glossed over as something to move past while basically hearsay with no named source is being spread to drop a legit top 15 picks stock. Its really wild who the media chooses to help and hurt.

I mean his reputation from Oregon had me worried...I don't think he produced at nearly the level he could have, but it's pretty rare to land someone that has all the talent AND all the motivation. Quite a few folks spoke about Randy Moss the same way and if he had the Jerry Rice work ethic he would have set records no one could touch.

I think Thornton could be an absolute problem with the right team, but could also see him being nothing but a problem with a bad one too.

That's pretty wild, UNC has 7 top 100 RSCI players, 5 of which are top 50.

The 2019-20 team that went 14-19 only had 5 top 100 players and just 2 were top 50

Also wonder if Cade Tyson is happy he picked the bigger bag to go watch. In 26 games he's averaging 8.5 mpg, 2.9 ppg, 1.2 rpg and shooting just 29.5% from deep...this is wild to say, but we might have won that deal taking Dubar instead.

Dubar has played in 24 games averaging 10.1 mpg, 3.5 ppg, 2.1 rpg and his 3 point shot has also been bad at 26.9% but he seems to be giving us more than Tyson is giving UNC at least.

The general propagation/spreading of the narrative around Pearce’s character. Let the GM’s and teams hash out the validity of those rumors behind closed doors rather than plastering it all over the socials.
Half the time the teams are putting that out there for their own reasons. Pearce didn’t do anything bad here worth writing home about.
