Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Best and worst? Again, bit harsh, just seems misplaced. It’s not about being out front, it’s about the players giving their all and it really seemed like they were sleepwalking their last home game of the season.

I do agree you seem a bit entitled about the best fanbase base in America not carrying this team to victory. And I’m not trying to make it personal because I really respect you as a poster. Just sayin, Sell out crowd against worst team in SEC going into midterm exam week. Not sure what the fans have done to draw any ire.

Probably a debate for not too as it appears the team is getting some footing and I’d say the fans have been invested in every call and non call this half leading to a double digit lead.

Not talking about the fan base carrying the team to victory. Not sure why you keep saying that.

Talking about the fan base not being entitled little biatches and not being loud in their own house even when maybe the team isn’t playing the best. The team can be struggling AND the fans can also suck - those can exist at the same time.

Yes once the game started dwindling down and Vols had the lead the fans did get loud. That’s all I’m asking for the rest of the time. Make it a nightmare to play at TBA at all times instead of sitting on hands. Hell don’t sit down for the entire game! That feels like something the best fan base in America could get behind, right?

And this is far from the first time I’ve labeled this fan base as the best and the worst.

Now that this game is over, let this be said.

I do not care whatsoever about the SEC Tournament next weekend. If you win it, you may as well have made a run to the Final 4 with as tough as the SEC is, and then the team has expended so much energy doing so.

I will not be upset if we are one and done again. Last year seemed to work out for the team, with the extra rest.

I’ll continue soaking in what we have left with this team. So much grit with a small 7-8 man rotation most nights.

This team definitely needs some rest. Bad! They look tired today. However, I would really like to see us beat Florida in the semifinals to solidify a one seed.

On March 8, 1971, Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali fought for the boxing heavyweight championship. Both fighters were undefeated at the time of the bout.

Frazier, who knocked Ali down with a left hook in the 15th round, won by unanimous decision.

For Ali, it was just his third fight following a 2 1/2 year absence from the sport after being stripped of his title for refusing induction into the service during the Vietnam war.

The bout, which was held at Madison Square Garden and dubbed the "Fight of the Century," was the first of three bouts between the two boxers.

Ali won the other two bouts two bouts ("Super Fight II" in 1974 and the "Thrilla in Manilla" in 1975).

Either win it or go one and out IMO. Possible (but unlikely) seeding implications aside, of course.
