I like Mike so much already. I watched the inaugural Mike Keith show on YouTube with Coach Heupel and ZZ, and I love his energy. Yet, he exudes such humility.

Lost the game in the first 8 minutes. Houston is not that much better than we are.

For real. Most annoying thing I’ve kept seeing in the basketball thread was people acting like Houston was just way better or more talented than us. Absurd coping mechanic. We just came out not mentally ready/and or didn’t hit our shots….and it cost us. Is what it is.

Maybe a hot take but I would take our baseball, softball and wbb programs being bottom dwellers but our football and basketball programs making final four and competing for titles consistently. And no our football and basketball programs arent elite or competing for titles, elite teams dont get blown out in r1 of playoffs, struggle every conference game, or get blownout in the ncaa tournament

Estrella was the guy that would've put this team over the top. His skillset and stature is the piece this team was missing. Awaka's rebounding would've been nice but still not enough imo.

To win against Houston today? DK would have been the difference.

JP is by far the best scoring big on the team…I am really hoping he’s gonna be 100% for his remaining 3 years here.

Elite teams get blown out in basketball all the time. Basketball is a weird sport sometimes. Now in football, fair enough. Elite teams very rarely get blown out.

I mean OSU handedly beat everyone in the playoff. We played them at their stadium, at night, right after they had a humiliating defeat to their arch rival. They had a few weeks to let all that soak in. They played others on a neutral field.

Had we had any other matchup, there’s a good chance we would’ve advanced past the first round.

To be honest, this season exceeded my expectations.

I was very worried that after losing, JJJ, Santi, DK, Awaka, Aidoo, & Freddie we would have a down year.

Then to have just 11 on scholarship was hoping we’d stay healthy. JP out for year then Carr quitting.

Honestly, was just hoping for 20+ wins and another Tournament. Team played great and really seemed to find their way quick.

I hope Barnes is back, I think he’s beyond due for a Natty run & we’re so close to be there, regardless of what the negative fans will say.

To be honest it was an unbelievable coaching job by Barnes all season. If you look at team talent for teams who made the Great 8 we are definitely a bottom two team. We played above our talent level all season. Heck I think Duke has 3 first rounders on their roster.

Also without a post presence much like Bama we live and die by the outside shot.

Really good season, and a hell of a ride with these Seniors. Hate that it ended that way; but, the end of an era that has seen so much success. Tip of the cap to ZZ and Mashack, we'll miss em.

Again, though, hate that it ended THAT way.


But!!! That's the great thing about being a Vol. We can now turn our full attention to the diamond, where we are THAT DUDE.

Losing sucks but losing to a team that isn't that much better or better at all like that, makes it even worse.. TN wins a 3,5,7 game series JMO (if college did series). Winner takes all makes for the excitement of March Madness tho. Made it further than alot of ppl thought we would

Also don't understand this Houston dominated talk... TN couldn't hit bright side of a barn the 1st 25mins of the game. Majority of em was wide ass open shots also. Houston effected that none whatsoever. We just missed shots we normally hit.

Arkansas has more talent than we do. It was a great year. Wish JP didn’t get hurt.
