I took that more as him saying it wouldn’t be fair to have that conversation right now since it was still up in the air. And he actually said for it to be a starter, they’d probably have to be paid higher than Nico. Again, I took it more as speculation/what-if scenarios than anything concrete is on the horizon. I certainly hope I’m wrong!

Nah, relative to expectations and the amount he was getting paid, he’s the biggest bust. The fact he was a cancer and worried more about his Benjamin’s than this team just adds to it.

We made the playoffs in spite of his poor performances.

Expectations were INSANELY high for HB15. Peyton 2.0 level. Maybe some have forgotten, but it was out of control. Then he went on to do NOTHING of note outside of beating lowly Vandy.

JJ Peterson, the hype wasn't quite as high as HB, but he somehow did even less lol.

Nico's expectations were on par with HB and he did 1000% more. I'm glad we had him for when we did, otherwise we don't skate past Bama, UF, etc with Gaston or make the playoffs. Only HH 2022 had a team as high by the end of the regular season and in-place to make the 12-team playoff, had there been one.

If he was a legit bust then he wouldn't be the one guy we could least use to lose at this point. If you polled this place a month ago who we could not have injured during Spring practice and out for the season, 99% would have said Nico. That isn't what you'd say if he was a bust. He would've been a 3rd stringer like HB at UNLV haha.

He went 4 or 5 straight first halves without scoring, he overthrew wide open receivers, and were it not for the defense and Sampson, we wouldn’t have won any of those games you mentioned. I’m not gonna call him a bust per se, but I definitely think you’re laying more at his feet than he deserves.

I think he takes a pay cut no matter where he goes. He hasn't proven to be worth the $4 million he wanted and Tennessee called his bluff.
